Description: Defendant was accused of Assault in the Second Degree-Domestic Violence. Allegations were that the defendant’s daughter had severe bruises on her legs, thighs, shoulders arms and hands. The State alleged that the bruises were dark blue and purple and several had red marks in the middle of the bruise. The alleged victim stated that she suffered the injuries when her father struck her with an extension cord. The defendant contended he had spanked his daughter, and did not use an extension cord. The jury found the defendant not guilty.
