Dawn Farina

Dawn Farina brings more than three decades of courtroom experience to criminal defense. A former Pierce County prosecutor for 29 years, she tried some of the county’s most serious felonies, led the Misdemeanor Unit (handling 13,000+ new cases annually), and served as Chief of Staff overseeing 218 employees and the office’s top leadership. Dawn’s prosecutorial background sharpens her ability to identify flaws in the state’s case and craft winning strategies. She is well-versed in forensic and evidentiary issues—DNA, fingerprints, GSR, cell-phone data—and in defenses including self-defense, alibi, intoxication, and mental disease or defect. Dawn created the City of Fife’s prosecution program, advised and trained regional law enforcement, and began her career as a public defender. A past president of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, she has received awards for pro-bono leadership, victim services, and public service.
