Kept me in the loop, kept me out of jail

I thought I was headed for jail and a long drivers license suspension. Bob Marshall told me to stay calm and he would handle everything. I never even had to go to court on the case. He's very honest and explains things in a way that I can understand. It was great to talk to him about motorcycles and other things too. I'm very happy with the outcome of my case.

A lawyer who owns the courthouse!

Moments before trial, Mr. Marshall worked out a deal for an infraction that wasn't even a point on my license. All of the other charges were dismissed.

Mr. Marshall owns the courthouse! I was amazed how everyone acted from the moment he walked through the door. The deputies at the metal detector greeted him like an old friend and the judges treated him with the utmost respect. One of the jurors who wasn't selected for the trial came up to him later and said she was impressed with his confidence and communication skills, and said she would want him as her attorney if she was ever in trouble.

She was right! I was very glad to have him on my side.

Please do yourself a favor and have someone else represent you.

Mr. Marshall and his secretary are rude, uninformative, and not dependable. His secretary is especially good at providing incorrect information and in making your phone calls seem very unwelcome. They do not like to give copies of paperwork that a client has a right too, such as discovery, because they don't want to pay for the paper. When Mr. Marshall was told that we would need to seek representation elsewhere and that the problem with his secretary was the main reason, he said that she would never say or do such things and that I was a liar. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Robert Lee Marshall’s response: “I never actually represented this person. As we repeatedly told him, the court made an error, I was not his attorney, and I had no information about his case. A judge intended to appoint the Public Defender to represent him at government expense, but mistakenly provided him with my name and the wrong court date. The court clerk called the next day to inform my office of the error. When he called my office, my secretary told him to show up on the next court date and the judge would appoint the right attorney to represent him. I met with him on the court date and explained the court's error again, and the judge called his case and appointed the Public Defender to appear with him the next day. He asked for copies of his discovery, but I told him he would have to take that up with his Public Defender because I had been appointed by mistake and had no further information about his case. If he is not deliberately misrepresenting the truth, he certainly has trouble understanding these simple facts.”

    EXCELLENT LAWYER!

I just finished with my case and I have to say Mr. Marshall was an excellent lawyer. He took his time over the last 7 months discovering evidence and I owe my freedom to this man. He made calls to me on HIS time, and helped make sure I did everything I needed to do. Thank u Mr. Marshall.

THE WORST ATTORNEY I HAVE EVER HAD

Make your own decision after talking with Robert Marshall BUT he was not a good attorney for me. I wrote several complaints against this attorney to the California State Bar. facebook.com/ParadiseKidneyFoundation to read the letters I wrote to the Bar.

Robert Lee Marshall’s response: “I was appointed to represent Cory Bruce Langberg, at taxpayer expense, on a criminal case that was ultimately DISMISSED. Three judges of the Butte County Superior Court have reviewed Mr. Langberg's complaints and found them to be without merit. The State Bar has never contacted me, even though Mr. Langberg claims he has written numerous complaint letters. In his criminal case, after hearings in front of two different judges, the court made a factual finding that I had properly represented Mr. Langberg in all respects, and that any breakdown in the attorney-client relationship was due solely to his defiant attitude towards his counsel. (Butte County Superior Court SCR81262.) When he included me in a lawsuit he filed against Butte County, a judge dismissed the suit and awarded me approximately a thousand dollars in costs. (Butte County Superior Court 158000.) I have no idea what he's talking about when he says I lied about his court date. He was personally present at all of his court dates, so he was always informed of the next date. I never told him that he "could not bring any of my medicine" into the courthouse. I did tell him to bring only what he needed for the time he was in court, instead of a large clear plastic bag filled with approximately a dozen prescription bottles, which drew unnecessary attention. Mr. Langberg was charged with assaulting an emergency room nurse who was trying to comfort him after a car accident, breaking her tooth. My investigator and I spent many hours working on the case, trying to develop a defense. When the judge called his case at one court date, Mr. Langberg took off his jacket to expose a t-shirt on which he'd scrawled, "F'ing crooked judge *******, lying dirty cops, due process." He was also arrested outside the Chico courthouse in late 2014 for displaying a crude banner across the street from a junior high school. I had to withdraw from the case because the victim's medical providers inadvertently provided confidential medical records to me, instead of sending them directly to the court as my subpoena directed. The criminal case was eventually dismissed because the District Attorney's office failed to subpoena the victim in time for trial. Facebook also removed the page for the "Paradise Kidney Foundation," which appeared to be nothing more than a vehicle for Mr. Langberg's rants.”
