At the time I was a dumb college student who wasn't thinking. I had never gotten introuble before and was really scared I would have to do jail time. I googled lawyers in Orlando and stumbled apon Mr. Hornsby. I called him right away an explained to him what I did. He ensured me that he would beable to take care of it and quickly went over the game plan which included no jail time, just community service. Not only was Mr. Hornsby very responsive but his assistance we also very helpful. They would take down my information and within 2 hours Mr. Hornsby would call me back to answer any of my questions. Not the cheapest but you definitely pay for what you get, worth every penny. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who gets themselves in legal trouble.

It's official, I just received the letter. Case Dismissed! I retained Mr. Hornsby because he is the only lawyer who gave me any hope of a dismissal. I talked to other lawyers who said I should plead no contest and hope for withheld adjudication. In other words, they didn't want to put any time into my case. When my case all the sudden came up after two years nearly following the events that had lead up to it I was confused, lost, and had no clue what I was going to do. Since he has wored in POLK county I figured it wouldn't be hard for him to take one case in Highlands. This was my very first expereince with the justice system and it was extremely helpful to have an attonery such as Mr. Hornsby who is very thorough and extremely knowledge of the law and will give you all detailed options for your case, he responds in a timely fashion either through e-mail or by phone, (same day). Mr. Hornsby was worth every penny that I paid him for taking my case. (2 felony charges with police recordings) In the end, he resolved my case exactly as discussed months prior during my initial visit to his office. I had a difficult DUI case with property damage and a high BAL. I was very concerned about the possibility of serving time in jail, as well as the extreme financial burden I could be facing. He was very honest and forward about both the possible negative outcome of my case, as well as the positive. He negotiated a plea deal with the state that I was satisfied with, having my charge amended to a lesser one. My penalties and fines were basically cut in half. On the day of my sentencing, he had reworked my deal heavily in my favor by having the state drop the requirement for me to have an interlock device in my car for a year. Richard met me on a Saturday. He was punctual to the minute. In his office, he listened to my explanation of the events. He reviewed my charges from the documents I presented him. He looked me up in the County Clerk system as he knows his way around the infrastructure of the judicial system. I got myself in trouble at age 71. Never had to hire a lawyer,after making several calls I found Mr. Hornsby, on the internet. I had been considering a Public Defender, but instead I found not only one of the best rated Attorneys but one of the most affordable as well.The first meeting went well,and I left with the feeling that a huge weight had been lifted and felt hope for the first time.He told me to go home and live my life. I was recently represented by Mr. Hornsby on a Violation of Probation case in Orange County. It was my 3rd violation and I was looking at spending some time in Orange County Jail. Needless to say, the judge was not happy. Further, it appeared to me that Mr. Hornsby had not spoken to prosecutor and basically negotiated a deal in open court.
