ONE OF ONLY 5 LAWYERS IN DALLAS AND THE ONLY LAWYER IN COLLIN COUNTY BOARD-CERTIFIED IN CRIMINAL LAW BOTH IN TEXAS AND NATIONALLY.

Mike Price has been representing citizens accused of crimes since he was a student in law school. While many of his fellow students were in class listening to professors tell them what the law was, Mike was in the Dallas County Criminal Courthouse learning first-hand how the system really works. This experience early in his legal education convinced Mike to dedicate his professional career exclusively to the defense of those people and businesses accused of crimes by local, state or federal authorities.

While many of Mike's colleagues like to focus on their past experience as a prosecutor or judge, Mike stays focused on achieving results in the courtroom.

"The best lawyer to defend a person accused of a crime is an attorney who has devoted his entire career to defending the rights of people rather than trying to put people in jail or prison."

Mike has handled over 3,500 criminal cases since 1995. He has prosecuted none. These cases have ranged from simple misdemeanors, DWI's, assaults, drug possession, grand jury representations, rapes, robberies, and complex white-collar federal investigations. This wealth of experience has come from where it matters the most: The Defense side of the table--Representing persons accused of a crime. Mike has a firm belief that the only way to handle a criminal case successfully is to investigate and prepare every case as if it were going to be tried in front of a jury. By doing this, every case gets fully investigated and the best resolution for every client can be achieved, even if the case does not ultimately end in a trial. Most "Former Prosecutors" are not skilled and experienced in criminal defense law, cross-examination, defense experts, or investigating a case from the defense prospective. Even prosecutors that have been 'criminal defense lawyers' for many years sometime never lose their 'everyone's guilty' mentality. This is a huge gamble to take when you are considering the effects of a criminal charge on your freedom, family, and career.

Mike Price was born in North Carolina in 1970. He moved to Sherman, Texas, in 1973 and graduated from Sherman High School in 1988. Mike completed his undergraduate studies at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and graduated cum laude in 1992. Austin College is a small, private Presbyterian school known for its academic excellence. While attending A.C., Mike was a 3-year varsity team letterman on the Austin College Football Team. He was selected as a Texas Interscholastic Athletic Association Academic All-Conference member in 1989, 1990, and 1991. In 1990, Mike and the 'Kangaroos' advanced to the NAIA Division II National Playoffs. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995 from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas. While at SMU, he was a student attorney in the SMU Law School Criminal Justice Clinic. After representing many clients throughout the criminal process, including jury trials, Mike was chosen to be the Supervising Student Attorney for the next class of students in this program. He was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1995.

After graduating from law school, Mike began working for the legendary criminal defense attorney George R. Milner. Mike became a partner in his firm in 1998. In 2001, Mike became Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. While most attorneys have to practice 10, 15 or 20 years to reach the experience level necessary to achieve Board Certification, Mike met the rigorous requirements and passed the exam after being licensed for only 6 years. In 2002, Mike became the Managing Partner and a founding member of Milner & Finn, a law firm dedicated to the exclusive defense of criminal cases in both state and federal court. In 2006, Mike became Board Certified in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is now one of only a handful of attorneys who is certified in Criminal Law at both the state and national level, and the ONLY one in Collin County with both of these certifications.   In addition, Mike has been named a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly Magazine every year since 2005. He is also "AV" Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for both ethics and legal ability.

No nonsense and straight forward
I contacted Mr. Price about a possible expungement for a very old arrest. Once he had all of the information he needed he was upfront about our chances at success. He told me that although we may win the initial ruling that we very well could lose on appeal since more than one government entity would probably appeal. Since the record was almost 40 years old, I made the decision not to pursue it and Mike supported my decision. He very well could have made promises and not told me the possible outcomes in order to receive his fee. As it turned out he didn’t charge me anything for the consultation. This speaks volumes. Mike Price is obviously an ethical attorney who makes the needs of his clients his priority. I hope I never need him but would use him in an instant and recommend him to anyone who may need his services.

Best Attorney in Texas
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need a defense attorney, I wholeheartedly vouch for Attorney Michael Price. When I found myself in a situation where I needed to hire an attorney, I conducted extensive research to shortlist a few leading attorneys in Texas to ultimately find the best attorney. From my very first telephonic conversation with Mr. Price my anxiety got eased as I knew I was in the right hands. Mr. Price represented all I was looking for in my hour of need – an experienced and an empathetic legal expert who I could completely count on to go win my case for me. Undoubtedly, hiring Attorney Price to represent me turned out to be the best decision as he got my case dismissed as well as expunged within a timeframe of mere 6 months. Attorney Price understood my unique situation and worked diligently and unceasingly to help me with my case. Throughout the process not only I felt valued, heard, and understood by Attorney Price and his team but I could literally go on with my life without much interruption as Attorney Price and his team took care of it all for me. And since this was my first encounter with the legal world and I needed handholding with almost everything, Attorney Price and his team made sure to walk the extra miles along with me and stay by my side every step of the way. Even on days when Attorney Price used to be in the court representing other clients, his team was always there to offer immediate support and how. A special shout out to Toni Burleson for being just a call away for all my worries and concerns. What is even more commendable about this firm is that they never stop being there for you even after your contract has been successfully completed. I reached out to Attorney Price and his team on several occasions in the past four years whenever I needed some advice or documentation, and they never ceased to warmly welcome me and help me with my queries and requests. Recently when my immigration attorney requested expert advice from Attorney Price, he was so kind and gracious to help me as well as my immigration attorney. Such kind of passion and capability to help not only the existing clients but also the past ones are certainly rare. Hence, I have no reservations in recommending Attorney Michael Price to anyone in need.

Not all lawyers are created equal. When my previous lawyer was unable (or unwilling) to get anything done for me, I turned to J Michael Price. He went to work for me right away and was able to modify the unjust conditions of my probation. I was impressed by how quickly and aggressively he went to fight for me. I hope I never have to, but I would hire him again. Highly recommended!

Deregistration
We retained Micheal ro assist in the deregistration process. Before hiring him we searched and contacted many, many attorneys, not only was he one of the more reasonably priced but his staff was very knowledgeable and sensitive to our situation. His assistant Toni was always available before, during and after the process providing information and support. We could not be more pleased with the outcome, we won! Thank you to Micheal Price and Toni for helping us get our life back.

Best lawyer in the Dallas area
I reached out to Mr. Price, as well as several other attorneys in the area, seeking legal counsel. He was the only attorney who responded to me. Not only did he respond quickly but every time I messaged him he was quick, clear, and thorough in his answers. He was very kind and went above and beyond to answering ALL my questions and never made me feel ignorant. I can’t express my gratitude enough for his ethical practice and continual patience with me! I have and will continue to refer people to him based on how awesome he was to me!

Everything a defense attorney should be
About a year and a half ago, I was arrested and charged with a DWI misdemeanor. It happened in Denton county; I was out with friends celebrating a promotion at work and just had too many drinks that evening. Feeling alright to drive, I left that evening from Dallas to go home. On the way home, I was speeding and was pulled over. While drinking and driving is a terrible mistake, I felt that the officer did not treat me fairly, and I certainly didn't want to be branded a criminal for the rest of my life especially since this was my first and only offense other than some speeding tickets. A colleague at work referred me to Mr. Price not long after his own trial in which he was acquitted. He did warn me that he is an expensive attorney, and that he may not have hired him had his family not helped him out with the cost. Despite the price, my wife and I agreed that we wanted to keep my clean slate intact no matter the costs. The first thing that Mr. Price did for me was take the time to meet with me personally prior to me hiring him which is something that many attorneys of his stature rarely do. He fought to get my license reinstated. Although, he was unsuccessful, he was able to convince the court to give me a more than generous occupational drivers license that allowed me to drive anywhere in the DFW area (so long as its documented). He was also able to convince the court to significantly reduce the number of aa meetings that I was required to attend (only 6). Finally, a year and a half later, he represented me in trial. Unfortunately, we lost, but I feel glad knowing that I hired him, because I got the trial that I deserved. Mr. Price is smooth and cunning in the courtroom. He contuously kept the prosecution (who had two attorneys) in full panic mode from beginning to end. He also kept the judge on his toes as well referencing cases that supported our cause for throwing out the search warrant for my blood. The judge was in awe of his knowledge of the law and his performance in court. The prosecution won, but they had so much more help in their corner. The DA was even coaching them during breaks on how to overcome Mr. Price's convincing arguments for a verdict of not guilty. In conclusion, my colleague was right; Mr. Price is expensive, and there is always a chance that you may still lose as I did. However, like anything else, you usually get what you pay for. Mr. Price stunned me in many ways with how prepared and effective his arguments were for my innocence. For example, the prosecution, was reviewing with the jury the blood kit that was used to collect my blood. Like most prosecuting attorneys do, they went over every...single...possible detail regarding the collection except for the manual that it came with which they said that you simply throw away. Mr. Price took the time to look at the manual and found one instruction about refrigerating the blood after collection. During their line of questioning, the prosecution never reviewed that detail with the officer. This was a golden opportunity that Mr. Price took advantage of. At first, it was working like a charm for the jury, but the DA talked to his prosecutors and helped them overcome this point the next day we met for trial. Had the DA not been so involved, I believe that we would have easily won. I say this, because it took the jury about two hours to deliberate. During that time, they felt the need to watch the video of my arrest as they still had some apparent question marks in their mind. I relish knowing that I had a good fair trial and with an amazing attorney who fought to the end. If you feel that it's important that you not be labeled a criminal then I strongly encourage you to seek out Mr. Price, he's well worth the investment.

J. Michael Price II - Review
It waas my first time to have any contact with law enforcement -- I was petrified. Mr. Price took the time to explain the process and answer all my questions. Things went exactly as he said they would, and eventually I will be able to have all this removed from my record. I hope I never need a criminal attorney again, but I know who to call if I do.
