WINNING IS THE ONLY THING. YOU DO NOT HIRE A LAWYER TO TAKE A DEAL. YOU HIRE A LAWYER TO FIGHT YOUR CASE. Mr. Copoulos is the founder of the Law Office of Mark D. Copoulos. He has tried over four hundred criminal cases in the Philadelphia area with excellent results. He points with particular pride to the 2014 case, Commonwealth v. H.V., in which he secured a not guilty verdict on felony drug possession and delivery charges. In that particular case, eyewitnesses testified that the defendant engaged in a drug deal. Through tenacious cross examination and compelling closing statement, Attorney Copoulos convinced the judge the eyewitness was lying.
Mr. Copoulos has obtained not guilty verdicts in felony and misdemeanor cases, including but not limited to Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Felony Firearm charges, Drug Possession, Driving Under the Influence, and more.
Mr. Copoulos is a regular at Philadelphia Landlord Tenant Court. In 2014, he secured at $11,450.00 verdict for a tenant who was wrongfully evicted. On numerous occasions, Mr. Copoulos has successfully represented landlords in evicting delinquent tenants. Unlike many landlord tenant lawyers, Mr. Copoulos files the eviction complaint at the earliest possible date ("EPD"), thereby ensuring the tenant will be locked out of the property in the fastest time allowed under state law.
Mark Copoulos is the treasurer of the Philadelphia Criminal Law American Inn of Court. In addition to maintaing a growing practice, he serves the Philadelphia courts as appointed counsel in various matters. Mr. Copoulos has provided Pro Bono legal service to the Philadelphia Volunteer Indigent Program ("VIP"), as well as the Philadelphia Support Center for Child Advocates. Mr. Copoulos also accepted court appointments in Juvenile-Dependency matters for a short period. He ultimately stopped accepting these appointments because they interfered with his singular focus on excellent criminal defense representation.
Mr. Copoulos is a graduate of the University of Arizona and the Villanova University School of Law. In college, he was a Resident Assistant, Student Body Senator, and Mock Trial and Debate Team Standout. He is particularly proud of his voracious work ethic in college, where he held down two part-time jobs, despite being extremely involved in campus life. At law school, Mark made the Moot Court Board and Trial Competition Team.
He is admitted to practice before the the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. In addition, he maintains active membership with the Philadelphia Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Criminal Law Inn of Court chapter.
