Sean pulled off a minor miracle for me!

I had a difficult chapter 7 two and a half years ago. Sean was able to get all of my unsecured debt discharged and allow me to keep two properties! Not an easy task. He also counseled me to buy a modest, dependable car while I could still qualify for the loan, so I would have something to drive un...til my credit got back on its feet. Good advice indeed, as I wound up becoming a realtor outside of the city, and would have been dead in the water without a good car. I am very sorry to read about his health problems. I don't know what he has been going through, but it must have been very serious if it affected his work. I know that he does his job with heart and a desire to truly help people. Sean, I hope you are well now!

Non-responsive, did not provide services

I hired Sean Serpe in June of 2011 to represent me in a personal bankruptcy case, at his request I paid him in full and submitted to him all the requested paperwork. Weeks go by, several emails requesting status were sent and went unanswered. In August of 2011, I went to the office of our initial ...meeting during business hours and the security guard told me that he moved weeks ago without a forwarding address. I had to scramble and hire another attorney. Months layter when I sent an email requesting my money back, I got a cryptic email referring me to another address with a new partner Juan Portillo. I will likely pursue another avenue to get a refund. I would not recommend.

Time marches on and still no refund

I never hear from Sean Serpe unless he's making excuses and then only by e-mail. I hired him in 2010 for a modification, he dropped me in 2011 without any explanation until I threatened him with legal action. Meanwhile months had gone by without one word from him. He told me he had filed papers a...nd never did, wasting precious time. The attorney he turned my case over to, Julio Portilla, waited around for months and did nothing. He took money and did NOTHING. I have been patient and kind, knowing of Sean's health problems, but it's now over a year since he promised to return my retainer. I have a 96 year old Mother and my own health problems. I have had to hire another law firm at another fee and I still don't have my $3000.00 from Sean. Supposedly he worked things out with Julio Portilla. I am going to the Bar Association. And I am contemplating selling his "declaration of judgement" to a collection agency. Enough is enough. Sean, if you want to reply to this complaint, just send me a bank check and I will be happy to acknowledge it here.

The best experience I've ever had with a lawyer, ever.

Sean Serpe handled my Chapter 13 bankruptcy with a level of professionalism that I rarely see among attorneys of any ilk. In short, deciding to use him among the many BK lawyers I interviewed was the best decision I've ever made in my entire working life. A bankruptcy proceeding is never a happy ev...ent, but, dare I say it -- he actually made the entire process so pleasant that he reduced the negativity factor to ZERO. Mr. Serpe's ability to instill utter confidence while maintaining a high degree of legal competence was something to behold. I can't possibly recommend his services highly enough. R.K. NYC

the right to sue a bank for there mistakes...ALOT of them

i had to file bankruptcy to stop sale of my house. sean went out of his way to do this for me. as a matter of fact, he had to file a few times for me to stop the sales. i never finished the bankruptcy as i have been a hard self employed worker for over 30 yrs and cant bring myself to do it. the bank ...SCREWED up many times, so many mistakes they made, that sean filed a lawsuit against them. sean is also a civil rights lawyer. i stand by sean, as i say to him many times....."my life is your hands". i was able to get a personal friendship with him. he treated me as a friend, not a piece of paper in his files. i also understand sean has had some health, personal issues (as we are have had), and has told me he is back with a vengeance. i trust his knowledge and his ability to do whats right for me. only drawback is he is very hard to get a hold of and we play phone tag alot sean, i see you read these from time to time........please get a hold of me.......gene
