Did not meet expectations - Do not recommend

Kresta suggested a fixed payment and I agreed to that. She advised that she has worked similar charges/cases before and it usually takes approximately 10hrs. So I was getting a "$500 discount". For $3500, my case was worked for a total of 2.40hrs. Quite often her response time to calls and emails wer...e slow and did not meet expectations. My specific incident involved alcohol so I was unaware of what actually transpired the night of my arrest. When Kresta received my police report, we spoke over the phone and she detailed what was in my report. I entered my plea, went to court and was granted work project (keep in mind at this time I had not been given my police report to view for myself). I was denied at the work project office and was given the option to appeal. I advised Kresta of this and she was good in giving me advice of writing a letter (and reviewing it for me). At this time I was also given my report and that's when I realized she left a lot out when we initially spoke about what was in my report. A lot meaning things I said that would make any work project want to deny you and send you to jail. It was the type of stuff that would have been good to know before entering a plea. I had depended on Kresta to divulge these details on our call and she failed me there. I notified her of this (10/15/2014) but never heard from her again. My appeal went through successfully and I was awarded the option of work project versus serving jail time. This was due to a mixture of writing the letter, providing references of my character and going into the work project office to speak to an officer. Fast forward a year and I get a call from my wife stating that three uniformed DOJ officers showed up to my home looking for me and requesting to forfeit my firearms. They wanted to search the house but did not have a warrant and were denied at the door. I was able to work with them and get the ownership of those firearms transferred to my wife. In doing further research on my charge, I am not allowed to own a firearm in the state of California for 10 years. Kresta NEVER told me this. I feel you pay a lawyer to do their due diligence on your charges and she did not. If you plan to use her services, make sure you do your own due diligence on your charges (although you're paying her to do that job.) I can not, will not and do not recommend this lawyer.
