I served as a JAG on active duty in the Army from 2004 until 2012.  I served as a military defense counsel for 3 years, as a military prosecutor for 2 years, and as 1 of 15 Army Special Victim Prosecutors for 2 years.  Prior to litigating military courts-martial, I served as a part time military magistrate and made determinations as to probable cause search authorizations and command decisions to place military members in pretrial confinement.  Since 2012, I have been exclusively defending military courts-martial in private practice and have represented military members in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard.  I devote the majority of my practice to investigations and defense of allegations of sexual assault.

Phenomenal Lawyer
Unequivocally, the lawyer you want representing you if there are any EO allegations/complaints against you while in the military. Unfortunately for my situation, I sought local legal representation, which was terrible, and I regretted not contacting Ms. Stewart FIRST after talking with her. Ms. Stewart provided immediate representation and sound legal advice, which established the tone going forward, ultimately leading to an unsubstantiated complaint.

Must have to defend 15-6
Securing Jocelyn's services are your best chance when facing a 15-6 investigation or reprimand. During Command I came under investigation after being accused of a relationship with a subordinate. I initially tried to rebut the investigation myself with legal assistance. Despite the Investigating Officer changing his recommendations the CG issued me a GOMOR. I retained Jocelyn at this point and was able to sway the Deputy CG to file the GOMOR locally. I will be able to exit my Command without relief or a referred OER. I will not be facing a board and my security clearance is safe. I regret not retaining Jocelyn from the start. Her team worked hard for me and I could be facing far worse without her. Investigations are stacked against you and you will feel guilty until proven innocent. Everyone will air their grievances and take advantage. This is on top of all the other worries and feeling like an outcast. Having Jocelyn's skills and experience on your side is exactly what you need in such times.

Government vs Jocelyn Stewart
When you are going against the government, you will need someone on your side that will fight on your behalf every step of the way. I have 19 years in the military, and I found myself in trouble which is all my fault. The government wanted to take all my retirement and VA benefits away by giving me an Other Than Honorable Discharge. I did not know who to ask for help other than my military-appointed attorney. As you know already may know, military lawyers only have so much experience as a military law officer and they are very busy. Therefore, I was not going to take the chance to possibly lose all the hard work I have done to make it this far in my career. If you need someone with years and years of experience that has seen it all and is still practicing military law, HIRE MS. JOCELYN STEWARD NOW! She knows the regulations and guidelines that can help you get the best results possible. Right now, everybody has turned their back on you because you messed up, she will be there to give you the assistance you need. She also has very high integrity and when or if she takes your case, you will know she will do everything in her power to win. Lastly, she will take most of the burden away from you the moment you decide to hire her. She will relentlessly contact every possible person that may write you a character statement and do the hard work of editing to make your packet as strong as possible. Her due diligence helped me get my benefits back. Now, I can finally move forward with my life after this tough lesson I just went through.

Excellent experience
I hired Ms. Stewart as my attorney after being falsely accused of sexual harassment while on deployment. I had reached out to her early in the process while waiting for NCIS and my command to complete their investigation. Over six months into the process, without hearing any news about the status of the investigation, I was told that I would have to be present for an XOI with under 48 hours notice. I thankfully had already retained Ms. Stewart months before this notification, and she quickly worked to contact witnesses for me to testify at the XOI and helped me prepare a statement and answer any questions during the XOI. She also advised me about the likely XOI outcomes and was able to give me sound guidance about how to next proceed. When I received the unfortunate recommendation of NJP, Ms. Stewart helped guide me to my next steps, believing that the facts were in my favor and that requesting Courts Martial would be the best way to resolve this issue. My command declined this option and instead sent my case for a Board of Inquiry. She continued to provide timely advice on the implications of this and how we may be able to prepare. Due to conflicts with her schedule, one of her partners ended up representing me at the BOI, who she did extensive prep work with so that he was well prepared to defend my case. At the BOI we were able to finally present the facts of the case and not only was I retained for service but the Board felt that the accusations made against me were not credible. I am very thankful for Ms. Stewart's professionalism and expertise. While I was always confident the facts of the case were on my side, it was very intimidating defending myself against the government. I no very little about law and the UCMJ procedures and having someone with Ms. Stewart's background to guide and explain the Navy's legal processes was priceless. While her services come at a cost, I always felt confident that I was investing in my own future and protecting against outcomes that would have had a substantial negative financial impact against myself and my family. Had I waited to be assigned counsel by the military, I would not have had someone strongly advocating for me during the investigative process and would not have had the ability to plan and prepare for the XOI. Thank you, Ms. Stewart.

Competent Military Law Lawyer
Hello, my name is Porter. I would like to tell you about my experience with Jocelyn Stewart as our lawyer. Long story short my son found himself accused of an offense that he did not commit. He works for the military and with little to no regard for actual fact finding the military quickly built a case against my son. His career, freedom, and our long-standing family tradition of honorable service were at risk. I did some research online for competent military law lawyers in his area and all options pointed to Jocelyn’s law office. After one conversation with Jocelyn I knew she was the lawyer best equipped to clear my son of all charges. Jocelyn served in the military as a lawyer so who better to have as your representative. Upon hire Jocelyn immediately began fact finding tasks and identified numerous holes in the military’s case. She kept my son and I informed of all actions and was present for all hearings that required her to be present. At trial Jocelyn laid out the fault with the charges that were made against my son. It is one thing to watch a lawyer on TV, it is incredible to see yours in action in real life. Jocelyn was articulate, factual, passionate, and unyielding. In the end my son was cleared of all charges and returned to his honorable standing with the military. Without question Jocelyn’s knowledge of military law and court proceedings saved my son’s career. If you are in need of lawyer in your corner that will go the distance for you or your loved one, I strongly recommend you contact the law of office of Jocelyn Stewart. I don’t wish anyone to go through what we went through, but if you do find yourself in a similar situation…… Call Jocelyn, I can guarantee you she will work relentlessly to achieve the best outcome for you and your loved ones. God Bless, Porter.

Responsive, Professional and Caring
I needed some help with an administrative action in the military that was disproportionately strong for a minor infraction. One of the challenges in the military is knowing what your rights are, and knowing how to navigate and defend oneself in a bureaucracy that is confusing and inconsistent. I was getting inconsistent advice from different people, and the JAG did not seem to even know what was going on (they were overwhelmed with volume of cases, not very responsive to emails or phone calls, and the one I worked with seemed inexperienced and was giving me incorrect information, including some advice that ended up not helping me (by closing some avenues that should have been pursued). I reached out to Jocelyn for help and advice. She responded quickly and professionally to my initial request over email, then we met in person, and I immediately got the impression that Jocelyn was experienced and knew exactly what should and should not be happening in my case. Jocelyn then put together a plan, timeline, and a fixed-price estimate for us to move forward. At that point, I knew what needed to be done (by her and by me), how long it would take, and how much it would cost. After months of stress and confusion, I finally had some answers and a plan to move forward. Jocelyn represented me at my administrative hearing, and did so very well. She was well-prepared, professional, and I received the best possible outcome. I am very happy with the work that Jocelyn did on my behalf to represent me and I felt that she cared about my situation and did her best to advocate for me.

More than just an attorney...
If you are reading this, you are probably in a similar situation as I was. Please listen to me and call her immediately. She is the only lawyer you should consider. She saved my life on multiple occasions throughout the process. She was upfront with her expenses from the start which seemed a little high at first but after a year of entanglement in the ucmj investigation process she never took advantage of me when I seemed desperate or weak. It was the best investment I have made and she never added unexpected fees. She answered my calls (personally) every time, multiple times a week for 15 months, often just to talk me off the ledge in between her trials and at odd hours. She was the only person I had to talk to at some points during my investigation. She informed me of the worst case outcome then the likely probability rather than what I wanted to hear and she fought for me with each new twist of this horrible experience. Jocelyn was my legal body guard guardian angel who protected me from the sexual assault man hunt and gave me the opportunity to continue on with my 18 year career that was in the balance. The so called "special victim" teams try every trick in the book to destroy innocent men and they are very good at what they do. Please listen to my review and call her if you are in need. She is an invaluable asset to have in your corner.

nothing short of a miracle
After my first phone call with Jocelyn I felt a sense of hope. She listened, cared, and asked questions. We had a very small window to work with and I don’t think any other attorney could have done what she did in that time frame. Her interviews were done in an extremely competent and professional manner and her response times were amazing- (we were dealing with a 9-hour time zone difference). She does not sugar-coat things or gave me any kind of guarantee to a certain outcome but fought this case like she was my big sister, and I truly consider her a trusted friend. As I go on to my next assignment, I will always have her on speed dial! Without a doubt, hiring Jocelyn was the best decision I made throughout this entire process and I will always recommend her to my soldiers. Jocelyn does not come cheap, but she is well worth the investment. If she has agreed to take on your case and represent you, you’re a winner and a potential case that can be beat. All in all, I chalk this up as nothing short of a miracle given the malicious and serious nature of the precarious situation I was facing. No charges were preferred, and no administrative action was taken. I can now move on with my career. Thank you Jocelyn! I’m forever in your debt…

Like a shark
Jocelyn is the most amazing person you will wish you never met. If you are seeking her help than you are going through a difficult situation, but Jocelyn is the one to help you get through it. She is brilliant and fierce in the courtroom and will fight for you harder than you might be willing to fight for yourself. She cares about her clients deeply and will leave no doubt that every avenue has been exhausted when the trial comes. She exudes confidence and expertise at all times and God help anyone who has to go toe-to-toe with her in a court room. The intensity with which she will fight for you will not be found anywhere else. She is truly a miracle and I will never be able to thank her enough for what she did for me.

An excellence choice
When I first found out I should hire an attorney Jocelyn’s name was one of the first names who popped up on google. I immediately contacted her and she got right back to me. Knowing what I know now my search should have stopped there, but wanting to do my due diligence I talked to other attorneys from the Seattle area and across the country. Nobody else explained in detail the steps that she would take, and she was the only one who wanted to get started immediately even though I had a two week buffer before anything was really going to happen. Jocelyn put me at ease and immediately got to work with me. Jocelyn took my case personally and it showed in my rebuttal memo. I am still unsure of the outcome but I could not be happier with the product that Jocelyn gave me. I hope that I never need to hire an attorney again but if I or anybody else I know needs representation I would not hesitate to recommend or hire her in the future.

Saved my life
I originally went with another law firm who espoused an ability to fight the government; waste of time. I contacted Jocelyn due to a friend's recommendation. She was the best decision I made. Not only did she fight for me she destroyed the prosecution at trial. Thanks to her energy, effectiveness, professionalism, and candor I knew where I stood throughout this whole process. She is a legal warrior. The government is vile and will not fight fair. Expect her to fight and beat them at their game. If not for Jocelyn I would not be free. Spend the time and money, you will not be disappointed.

There are no words to express my gratitude and appreciation for what Jocelyn Stewart has done for my family. We faced false accusations that only a miracle could save us from. Jocelyn was that miracle. Her knowledge of the law is highly impressive and her professionalism is remarkable. Her continued commitment and hard work showed us how much she cared about our case. Jocelyn is incredibly intelligent and she is a shark in the courtroom! She saved my family from tragedy and I will forever be grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking legal representation. She will go to war for you!

Mrs. Stewart is a wonderful counselor, she went above and beyond for my brother in a very difficult case; She provided our family with exceptional service. She took this case and treated it as if it were her brother being wrongfully accused not mine. We owe her so much for helping us through a very dark season of our lives. ,She is more than a great attorney, she is a wonderful human being. She will for ever be in our prayers.

I received a Statement if Reasons and feared losing my security clearance. I notified Ms. Stewart and she handled my case in the utmost professional and proficient manner. She communicated with me throughout the process and attacked the allegations in the SOR that yielded a positive result. I would definitely recommend her as a military defense attorney!

Great lawyer
I made the best decision by calling Jocelyn. I was involved in a drug case that lasted over a year. Jocelyn made this process a hundred times easier for me she was professional at all times and beyond knowledgeable. I knew of over 40 people involved in the same case as myself and after Jocelyn’s hard work and determination I received no brig time and a general under honorable conditions. Everyone else I know of that was involved not only did brig time, they also received bad conduct discharge. I recommend Jocelyn to all branches of service for any trouble you might be going through, you will not regret having Jocelyn represent you.

Intelligent, compassionate, and available attorney who helped me get the best possible outcome.
Though criminal charges were never preferred in my case, Jocelyn was incredibly helpful throughout the investigation process. I felt protected, and never faced any disrespectful investigative tactic horror stories that I read about online. I was a very needy client, and Jocelyn was always available to talk when I called asking for advice. Her counsel lead to the best possible outcome for my particular case, and I am in her debt for her wisdom and experience. Once your case comes to a close, you would never want to think that there was something else that you could have done to achieve a better outcome. If you hire Jocelyn then you will never have that problem.

Call Her ASAP!
Calling Jocelyn was the second best thing I did after being ambushed by a CID agent, the first thing being smart enough to refuse to speak with them at all. She quickly responded to an afterhours cell phone call and due to her working knowledge and experience in the field, was able to explain to me the most likely circumstances surrounding my situation. The process of being the subject of an investigation and the subsequent actions WILL mean that A. you will get no support from your COC or other elements of the US Army, and B. you WILL feel absolutely alone during the duration – no matter the outcome. Having Jocelyn in my corner was my most valuable asset to answer my many questions, communicate with L.E. and others involved on my behalf, and she was absolutely the deciding factor in my one hundred percent positive outcome. My biggest take away from the entire experience is that the military’s legal system is definitely not set up for the accused to have any support, this means you will need to get your own - and you will need to do it quick!

Best Decision I ever made
In May of 2016 I was called into CID and accused of sexual assault with someone I had been with in Korea. This allegation came to me nearly half a year after I was with her. I knew what happened and knew there was nothing that could have been considered sexual assault but didn’t know what was being said or why. I went into a complete panic. I couldn’t eat, sleep, and breath or even carry on a conversation. To say the least I was scared out of my mind. My command ordered me not to contact anyone that I knew from that time period and they provided me with no information. To say the least I was on my own. For a while I was half delusional thinking that this would go away or my accuser would step up and do the right thing and admit that she had lied. After a few months of silence and getting no answers and getting farther and farther away from any evidence that should exonerate me I decided to look for a lawyer. I searched the internet and called several different lawyers. Ms. Stewart was the last lawyer I called. After speaking with her I knew that she was who I was going to hire. Even though I knew I would hire her I still felt like I needed confirmation because this was going to possibly be the choice that was going to save my life, career, and reputation. I spoke with alternate lawyers in the area, they all knew Ms. Stewart and without wanting to they admitted she was the best person to hire. The second I hired her everything changed. Her confidence and knowledge on military justice processes are undeniable. Her ability to handle both me as a nervous and demanding client and the situation proved unparalleled. I was able to regain focus and get back to improving my life knowing that my case was in her hands. She worked diligently calling possible witnesses and getting information from people that I certainly wasn’t being told. She leaned forward with the same mind set that I have and prepared to defend me at a court-martial prior to my Article 32 hearing. However, the diligence that she put in finding witnesses to speak at my Article 32 and the manner in which she conducted the defense at the Article 32 proved to be invaluable. Ms. Stewart was able to re-interview witnesses and find someone to completely contradict my accuser’s sworn statement. In the end the Article 32 report found no probable cause for any sexual charge that I was being accused of. I can honestly say that Ms. Stewart always anticipates several steps ahead in her strategy and case preparation, thinking of all outcomes that could arise. On a side note I would like to add that prior to my Article 32 hearing we met with my military lawyer and after seeing the work Ms. Stewart put in he stated, “I would not have had the time to put this amount of work in on this, I am just so overwhelmed with cases, this is money well spent.” It most definitely was. After the Article 32 she began leveraging the report’s findings to convince the prosecution why they should not go forward to court-martial at all. Realizing they did not have a case for anything but improper relationship she continued to fight for me. The prosecution offered to send me to a summary court martial for fraternization. The military lawyer thought that was great and that I should take it; however, Ms. Stewart said no and fought hard. In the end I received an Article 15 for my offense. I couldn’t believe it. I was looking at going to jail for something I didn’t do and in the end I faced the right disposition and received a just punishment. I can honestly say that if you are not hiring Ms. Stewart you are putting yourself at risk. When it comes to these cases the Army does not care if you are guilty or not. They will destroy you as a person, destroy your life, and have you register as a sex offender and go to jail, all for something you did not do. If you come into any trouble in the military YOU HIRE MS. STEWART!!!!!!!!!!

"Jocelyn is an amazing trial lawyer. She takes every case personally and fights for her clients with skill, passion and tireless effort. I have had the honor to see Jocelyn first hand as she learns about a client, the case and her opponent. She is able to take this knowledge and obtain some super human results. If you can get Jocelyn on your case, you have the best on your side. I have witnessed the amazing things she can do to accomplish excellent results. Jocelyn goes above and beyond in everything she does, I got to first meet Jocelyn at Trial Lawyer's College, it was a life long dream as we had the opportunity to work with some of the finest trial lawyers in the country, including Gerry Spence. Even among such accomplished lawyers, Jocelyn stood out because of her dedication and passion in fighting for justice."

"I had the pleasure of working with Jocelyn Stewart at the prestigious Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming. It was there that I saw first hand the kind of person she is. Few attorneys have the grit that Jocelyn has. She has a level of honor, courage, and commitment that you only see from military servicewomen. Her dedication to her country is only equal to her commitment to her clients. Jocelyn is a fighter and it is because of my personal observations that I without reservation highly recommend her services to others."

"I worked in the same military defense office with Ms. Stewart at Fort Hood, Texas. She was without a doubt the most experienced, polished, and dedicated attorney in our office. When I was assigned to a case where I was convinced my client was innocent of the allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, I told the client that if he wanted the best possible representation, then we needed to ask for Ms. Stewart (then on active duty) to be on the case. He agreed and Ms. Stewart joined our team. Ms. Stewart put together a strategic and surgically precise defense that resulted in a quick acquittal of all charges. Her efforts were nothing short of phenomenal and saved the client's military career. I would gladly work with Ms. Stewart again and endorse her on any military justice matter!"
