After a traumatic car accident that left me with a severe concussion, nerve damage, hearing loss, and months of physical and occupational therapy, I originally retained an another attorney to help me with my mounting medical bills. My original attorney dropped the ball and almost missed a deadline, and I was left wondering if I was going to be able recoup any money towards the costs. A colleague referred me to Steve - he took over my case, poured over my file, listened as my husband and I talked about how much had changed for us in terms of quality of life, and got on it. I won a settlement that has given me an immense sense of relief in knowing that my continued medical treatment will not be a burden to my family. I feel like I can breathe again for the first time in a few years, and I'm so grateful to Steve for the work he did on our behalf. I can not recommend him enough.

Great attorney, would hire again

I was referred to him by a family friend and we were pleased with his work and would refer him to anyone needing representation for a car accident. The case took about 3 years to settle but that was because we had to go through medical treatment and weren't in any rush to settle. I am so glad I hired him a week after the car accident (which was on the East Coast, to further complicate the situation) because I didn't have to talk to the insurance companies at all, ever. I felt that the settlement he negotiated for us was fair and he did a great job. If I were to ever get into another accident, I would hire him in a heartbeat.

I have practiced personal injury law in the Puget Sound area since 2002. I handle all types of personal injury claims for things like motor vehicle collisions and 'slip and falls' which cause serious injury. I also represent individuals with claims against their insurance companies for insurer misconduct and/or insurers that fail to pay for losses which their policy should cover.

Over the past ten years, I have also become a Medicare Secondary Payer consultant, helping attorneys with Medicare issues, from lien resolution to set-aside evaluation. I am a Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional and specialize in helping other attorneys navigate the Medicare Secondary Payer process.

My wife and I have four children, and we live in Bothell. Born in North Carolina and raised in Northern California, I have come to consider the Puget Sound my home.

Adams case

Steve was truly a life saver for us. We were very unsure how the whole process works and feel we would have been taken advantage of by the insurance companies had it not been for Steve. He did an excelent job of taking the stress off of my wife so she could deal with more important issues.

Steven L Shaw did a great job!!!

I needed Steven Shaw's services to deal with an insurance company who did not want to cover an auto accident which was of no fault of my own. Through his hard work and dedication, we were able to get them to cover all medical and auto claims as well as to pay something towards any future damages. I would highly recomend him and WILL use his services in the future if so needed.

I am fortunate to do what I do, and every day I try to give each of my clients 100%. Here is one that was clearly unhappy with my work on their case. While I don't know who this client is, or what I did that made this client so unhappy, it certainly helps me be a better lawyer when I know what I can do to improve the service I give clients.
