Short of the clouds parting, revealing a sky full of unicorns, rainbows, butterflies and bluebirds singing, Spencer Thal negotiated and delivered an exceptionally outstanding separation agreement between myself and my employer. Upon hearing of the agreed negotiated settlement, I do think I caught a glimmer of a few one horned winged beautiful somethings gracing the afternoon's bright skies...at least that is exactly how I felt as the dark clouds that have been lingering in my head, mind and body for over a year now suddenly did part and evaporate entirely and it is Spencer's experience, skill, clarity and competence in matters of employment law that brought this to bear.
My employer could have continued down the path to complete my termination (as unjustified as I felt it was) but Spencer felt we should make the effort to negotiate a separation agreement that would be more favorable to me and the outcome I ultimately desired.
What he proposed was more than I expected and to my astonishment the employer agreed to all the terms he presented!
Aside from the spectacular end result, I have always found Spencer to be amazingly responsive to any inquiry I have made of him. And that is huge, as hours can seem like days when one is on the razors edge as I have been.
I believe Spencer had not only my best employment outcome at heart, but also was specifically sensitive to the financial aspects involved in working towards a beneficial outcome. I say this because on a number of occasions he advised me in ways to reduce my costs and I do believe he had my financial well-being in mind as well throughout this entire process.
This case wasn't about some big settlement that an attorney could secure for a client, and everybody cuts a fat hog etc. This was simply about working with an individual to secure the best possible outcome in a rather very sticky mess of a situation. A number of attorneys I contacted passed on my case. In the end I feel very fortunate now that they did. And I mean some pretty high-profile well-known Employment Law firms. Spencer, on the other hand, listened to me, was quite frank with his overall sense of my chances of retaining my employment, and yet he decided to take my case anyways with the goal of obtaining the best separation agreement possible....and that's exactly what he did. I could not be happier. I only wish we had asked for a chocolate cake with vanilla coconut frosting for my last day in the office! I'm sure he could have delivered on that as well, but I'll take the unicorns and blue sky and rainbows!
I cannot thank Spencer Thal enough and I feel like I can now get on with my life as I would have it. Thank you Spencer!!
