After an extended medical leave, and additional time taken to deal with serious personal matters and loss that he has suffered, which includes the loss of his mother, Vivian G. Krupnick - who was not only his partner in law, but his best friend the center of his world - Matthew is now active and practicing law again in the Los Angeles area.
During the past few years, as Matthew's mother grew ill, and they were forced to close their law firm, Matthew spent an entire year living with and dedicated to his mother, and nothing else. During this time, Matthew was accused of several violations by the State Bar. All of which stemmed from a case brought by one of his longest clients and ultimately dearest friends, Nakemma. The charges brought by the State Bar ironically were not made or started by the client complaining (as is the case in likely 95% of the Bar actions); in fact, when Matthew intended to defend himself against the charges, the client herself gave a recorded statement to the Bar and corroborated every fact which would have exonerated Matthew of the charges. Likewise, Matthew's mother was witness to all the facts and matters involved, and intended to offer testimony on his behalf as well, regardless of her deteriorating health.
Sadly, not only did Matthew's mother pass before he would be able to have his day to defend himself and be exonerated, but Matthew discovered that his client, Nakemma, passed away in a hospital when she was only in her 30's. With the crippling effect these losses had on Matthew, he needed time to mourn and deal with these incredible losses. In addition, now the two most important and credible witnesses that were ready to testify to the facts that would have exonerated Matthew, were gone. This is why Matthew took a settlement offer to resolve that State Bar matter, which now shows up even on profiles such as Avvo.
To get a glimpse into the real Matthew Krupnick and the integrity and dedication he has always had for all his clients, please take a moment to view the beatiful recorded endorsement of Matthew by his beautiful friend and client, Nakemma. May she rest in peace and never ever be forgotten. (link is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wlx8WSBWhis&list=FLIjbTKbfRlN9sufU7Nzg_3w&index=14)
Justice does not always prevail. This is a sad reality, and one of the reasons Matthew became the fierce litigator he is today, so that he could fight to get justice for those that need it most. And to honor his mother, and Nakemma, and himself, Matthew is happy to have put that matter behind and is now a warrior with no baggage. He continues to work with other trusted attorneys and firms, to fight for clients and those in need to this day.
With over 15 years of experience, Matthew remains the litigator and zealous advocate for each and every client that trusts and honors him by retaining him for representation. Matthew welcomes anyone with questions, in need of a consultation, and of course, representation. As always, there is no fee for talking or meeting with Matthew. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are in need of legal assistance of any kind.
In addition, and on an unrelated matter, Matthew has become one of Los Angeles' premiere Magicians / Mentalists and performs regularly for private parties and events, corporate seminars, celebrations, and much more. He is also a Magician Member and regular performer at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Should any prior clients, or colleagues, and even strangers, ever wish to experience the wonders of magic and mentalism performed by the world's most talented performers, contact Matthew about being invited to the exclusive, and iconic place to experience the wonders of magic, at the Magic Castle.
Being able to finally practice law on his own terms while simultaneously pursuing and living his dream performing and entertaining so many people as a professional magician and mentalist, has been an unexpected blessing and motivates Matthew to continue to grow and bring justice and joy to as many people as possible. Despite the difficult years that have passed, Matthew has emerged stronger and more focused than ever before.

This sanction means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.
Matthew’s comment: “For several years, Matthew has taken time off from the practice of law to deal with his severe low-back injury and nerve damage, as well as to take care of his mother, Vivian Krupnick, who passed away on July 20, 2018. Vivian was Matthew's best friend, his mentor, and his partner at their law firm. During this horrible time period, Matthew agreed to settle a matter with the State Bar, and agree to a 90-day suspension and year of probation. Please contact Matthew for more info about these matters”

Relationship: Worked together on matter
I endorse this lawyer. Matthew is one of the great young lawyers in Los Angeles whose fearlessness allows him to take on any matter and come out with justice. We recently reviewed evidence on a difficult auto collision case where a police officer in Hawthorne ran a red light, camera on, and caused a violent collision. Most lawyers would not take the case because it involves authorities and credibility. But Matthew fought hard, typical of him, and battled for fair compensation, and won. He works with the best lawyers in Los Angeles, Mike Alder, people who are leaders, and he'll be one himself soon!
Anthony Luti, Civil rights Attorney on Apr 1, 2012

Relationship: Co-worker
I have worked with Matthew for over 6 years in the trenches of hard fought litigation. I often tell people about some of the skills Matthew has, or the accomplishments he has achieved at such a young age, and people often find it hard to believe. Not only is he one of the sharpest, most fearless and talented litigators I know, but he is loyal to those he loves to a fault. As a co-worker before he opened KRUPNICK & KRUPNICK (where I am now working with Matthew, his amazing mom and partner Vivian Krupnick, and the rest of our incredible staff), we worked together for close to 5 years doing litigation against the best firms and biggest and most hard to deal with insurance companies in the world. There was never a time that I needed help that Matthew didn't INSIST on helping me (Thankfully!). He taught me many things, both as a litigator, and as a person. He always saw the positive in me and made me believe I could accomplish annything. I am proud to endorse Matthew Krupnick and his firm.
Brian Breiter, Personal injury Attorney on Apr 13, 2011
Relationship: Worked together on matter
I choose to work with only a select group of lawyers and Mr. Krupnick is one of them. When I first met Matthew I knew he was the real deal. He is a smart lawyer, aggressive, and knows his stuff. I look forward to working with The Krupnick Law Firm for many years.
Hadi Ramsey, Litigation Attorney on Mar 27, 2011

Matthew’s track record speaks for itself. He is a top rated Los Angeles attorney and is an asset to this profession. I endorse this attorney.
