Harris Justin Brumer

Harris and I met back in October of 2020, during covid. He heard me out about my case and took me in as a client. If it wasn’t for him and helping me each step of the way I wouldn’t be able to say I’m finally divorced. I 100% recommend Harris, he knew what was my best interests, and won every battle for me. I hired Mr. Brumer in January of 2021 to represent me in a support arrearage case, and handicapped adult child support issue. Mine was a very challenging case with a time frame of over 30 years since the finalization of my divorce. I reside in Illinois, which made things a little more difficult. Harris accepted the challenge with grace, honesty, and integrity. We only met in person once during the entire process when I traveled to California for what we thought would be the final hearing. Everything had to be done by mail, phone, and computer. With his representation we proved that I did not owe any arrearage, but that I had actually overpaid on my child support. With his insight of the law, we set up an adult support order for my handicapped child. He was in the court room when I couldn’t be, and kept me posted every step of the way. It took over 14 months for a ruling but he remained dedicated and true until the final hearing. I would not hesitate to hire him again if needed. As a Retired Marine Corps officer, I expected the best from him and he gave a 110%. A true legal professional that cares about his client and justice.

Harris did an amazing job with my case. It was an extremely difficult case due to fighting off a false TRO, not once, but twice, multiple lies from the other party and with it being a contested divorce with minor children. Harris was always available to talk, answer any questions that I had and put me at ease throughout the trying times of what was the last two years. Mr. Brumer was very professional, and very very patient with dealing with me and the nonsense from my ex-wife. Words cannot express enough how grateful and thankful I am to have come across Harris. He really does his work and shows how passionate and caring he is about what he does. To me, my case or situation seemed very difficult and brought a lot of anxiety and doubt before reaching out to Mr. Brumer. I am a single mother who joined the US Air Force in order to provide a better quality of life for my 8 year old daughter, for job security, for education purposes, benefits, and for many other good reasons. I went through mediation, which I really thought went really well, but to my surprise, the FCS (Family Court Services) report from the mediator came back recommending that my daughter should stay back in CA with her father. I was in shock, very upset, and about to lose my mind, but Mr. Brumer always gave me hope and stayed firm and positive for me which helped me regain my confidence and to stay motivated to keep pushing forward. Mr. Brumer was the angel sent from heaven that I had been praying so much for. He definitely helped me keep my calm. Mr. Brumer always stayed in contact with me when I had questions or concerns and he definitely made sure that I knew ahead of time what he needed from me. He made sure to keep track if I had turned in something he needed from me, and if I hadn’t turned something in, he would always make sure to remind me that it was due soon. Mr. Brumer was the perfect fit for me; He knew Family Law like he knew the palm of his hand, but he also adds a twist by also knowing military law so well and applying it perfectly into my case. During the beginning of the court hearing, Mr. Brumer basically woke me up and demanded me to show more passion and interest in the way that I was answering questions. He was showing more passion than I was and that made me realize that I had to act quick and do something about it. I was really impressed on how he took my case to a very personal level. Before the final court ruling, Mr. Brumer noticed how nervous I was, and he asked me if it was ok if we said a little prayer. I agreed, and his words of wisdom calmed my soul, made me feel at peace, and confident that everything was going to be alright. The judge ruled in my favor, and I get to move my daughter to Oklahoma with me starting this Summer of 2021!!! I do not know if you believe in God, or a god, or in a higher power, but this man (Mr. Brumer), is definitely an angel sent from up above and he will without a doubt stand up for what he believes is right and go to war for you in court to protect you and your family, and you will be walking out of that court with a huge victory. Mr. Brumer is definitely one of the few, true, honest, passionate, and aggressive attorneys out there that is trustworthy (which we all know very well how rare and difficult it is to find an attorney with any of these characteristics or qualities nowadays). I would recommend Mr. Brumer to my friends and family in less than a heartbeat, and to anyone out there who is seeking someone to represent them.

A divorce is a difficult process to navigate, both emotionally and from a legal standpoint. Harris helped us in a calm, supportive manner through the entire process.
