I want my money back. I didn't get what I was promised.

I retained this attorney in 2020 after a personal recommendation from someone whose case appeared to be handled successfully by this firm. Based on that recommendation, I contacted the office and spoke with an intake attorney who reviewed my situation in detail. During that initial intake call with K...athleen, I was told that the firm specialized in my type of case and that my attorney could obtain specific outcomes for me, including child support, a portion of my spouse's retirement, and reimbursement for the children's school expenses I had paid on my own. I was told these outcomes were very achievable, and reimbursement for school expenses was described as an "easy" issue to win. Based on these representations, I hired the firm and paid a $15,000 retainer (which I was told was a discounted referral rate). One of the most significant issues during my representation involved a hearing regarding reimbursement for my children's school expenses. Despite repeated assurances that this issue was straightforward, my attorney appeared unprepared at the hearing. She did not have the correct exhibits organized, struggled to present the evidence clearly, and was unable to adequately answer the judge's questions. The judge ultimately ruled in favor of the opposing party, citing insufficient evidence. Gathering, organizing, and presenting that evidence was the responsibility of my attorney. By the end of the year, I had paid approximately $100,000 in legal fees, and my divorce was still not finalized. I was then billed for the hearing that was lost. I informed Michelle, in finance that I could not afford to pay for a hearing that had been represented as an easy win but was not properly prepared or presented. A few months later, I spoke with Michelle on the phone explaining my concerns. I was told she would discuss the matter with the attorney and follow up with me. I did not receive any response or communication for approximately four years. During that time, I believed the matter had been closed and, for that reason, I chose not to leave a public review. After approximately four years of no communication, I received an email demanding payment. Due to the lack of contact for several years, I initially thought the message might not be legitimate. Within two weeks, the firm placed the balance into collections. At that point, I felt it was important to share my experience so that others are aware of how billing disputes and unresolved concerns may ultimately be handled. Based on my documented experience as a client, the level of preparation, accuracy, communication, and financial handling did not align with what was represented at the outset of my case. I would encourage anyone considering this firm to read the negative reviews. They appear genuine.

Antonyan Miranda Highly Unprofessional!

I have unfortunately encountered and been harassed directly by 2 different attorneys, Ben Torrence and Jasmine Dwelkotte, with Antonyan Miranda that are under Ilona Antonyan’s management. It is obvious Antonyan Miranda promotes and encourages its attorney’s to be aggressive, demeaning and harassing ...to initimdate opposing clients. It’s very disgusting and unprofessional. Be warned this law firm fights dirty and below the belt, without facts to back their accusations!

Sharks

They present as one way and are money sharks in disguise. Divorce case mishandling, charge exorbitant fees for inept performance or follow-through. RUN - don’t walk away from these scam artists. Over $25,000 for $5,000 work IF that.

Terrible

Since this has been an ongoing situation with Ilona Antonyan’s total disregard to protect her clients, in this case me. I will keep updating. I have written an email regarding something which should be in every MSA. I urge everyone who reads this to know how badly Ilona botched my MSA for personal ga...in and hope of future work. I’ve recently discovered one clause that could have prevented 4 years of being taken advantage of with nearly no recourse. Ilona, could you explain why you didn’t add an enforcement and penalties clause into our MSA? I said my EX would cheat and you agreed 100% and now I’ve been cheated for over 4 years and completely destroyed my life. I specifically asked you to do everything possible to protect me in the MSA. You spent 5 months and charged $50,000-60,000 for your mishandled MSA. To give you quick reminder of what this clause is which just found out about, even-though I’m sure you know what this entails: Enforcement and penalties clause in a Marital Settlement Agreement (MSA). This clause helps ensure that the terms of the agreement are followed by both parties and provides consequences for non-compliance. 1. Contempt of Court: If one party fails to comply with the MSA, the other party can seek legal remedies through the court, which may result in fines or other legal consequences for the non-compliant party. 2. Attorney’s Fees: Some MSAs include a provision that the party found in violation of the agreement must pay the attorney’s fees of the other party in enforcing the agreement. 3. Specific Remedies: The MSA may outline specific remedies for various types of breaches, such as financial penalties, modification of custody or support arrangements, or property transfer. 4. Mediation or Arbitration: The agreement may require parties to resolve disputes through mediation or arbitration before resorting to court action. Including an enforcement and penalties clause can help deter either party from cheating or acting unfairly in the future, and it provides a clear mechanism for addressing any violations of the MSA. This can be beneficial for ensuring that the MSA is upheld and that both parties’ rights are protected. It’s advisable to consult with an attorney to draft this clause in a way that aligns with your specific circumstances and jurisdiction. The more I read and learn about this mess you created I find more and more intentional screwups or complete incompetence. I believe there is case for equitable tolling. I want to know with your vast knowledge of the law and your extremely high hourly rate why you neglected to add this clause to the MSA. Also why did you unilaterally make a deal with Amy L about having me pay for the MSA when it was such a large sum of money. You didn’t explain I would bear the financial burden of the MSA even though it was completely unfair and you probably did this so you weren’t kept on a leash For those unfamiliar with the concept of Equitable Tolling, it refers to a legal principle that permits individuals to pursue legal action even after the expiration of the statute of limitations. This rule becomes applicable when new and significant information emerges, providing individuals with grounds to initiate a lawsuit that they may not have been aware of within the original timeframe defined by the statute of limitations. If you seek a more detailed understanding, it is recommended to research Equitable Tolling for comprehensive insights into its application and implications in legal contexts

Scam Artist

I wish I NEVER paid these people to represent me. They excessively billed me and made me pay thousands in legal fees. And I’m still not divorced it feels like they are stringing me along for money. RUN from this place don’t believe the “good” reviews they are bought by the firm to make people believe... they are authentic. The owners come from money you can tell and are not down to earth
