I have been practicing criminal defense law, worker's compensation law and personal injury law for over a decade now. I was a Washoe County public defender for 5 years. Those are "dog years". I represented almost 5 times the number of clients I now represent in private practice. It is experience that cannot be duplicated. I have more experience in those five years than most private criminal defense attorney's have in their entire career.

Money saved

I consulted Byron Bergeron for a case against my girlfriend. He explained that she was grossly over charged and that the deal she was offered she should take it and run and be done with the small town that was charging her. He saved us over 25,000 dollars in attorney fees. We consulted with him for ...about an hour and he was looking up statutes and giving us advice on what she could ask the district attorney for and what she was entititled too. He was very personable and we even recommended him to someone else who has retained him. Thank you so much Byron!!!

Great Lawyer, Great Man

Byron is not only a great lawyer, but also a great individual. Through the entire process, Byron was knowledgeable, prompt, and confident of getting the outcome that I wished for. Even though my case was of less severity, Byron approached it with great care and diligence. What sets Bryon apart from o...ther lawyers is his willingness to negotiate and not settle for anything less than what is desired by his clients. Above all else, Byron is a great person to work with and I would highly recommend retaining him.

Faith in Humanity Restored

And they say nothing is free. I called Mr Bergeron about my current case. Mr Bergeron was straight forward with me about what to expect, and gave me advice about how he felt I should proceed. What I WASN'T expecting was that he said he didn't feel there was value in me retaining him, as it would ...probably worsen my financial situation in helping me conclude my case. Who does that? Well, I can't say if he does this often, but I consider myself fortunate in having found him. His information has helped me towards a better outcome, one that I can't say I would of gotten if not for his guidance. If you find yourself in a bind, do yourself, and your family a favor, call him before you make any rash decisions. He will let you know if there is value in retaining him.

Who ya gonna call?... Byron Bergeron!

I am very glad to have hired Attorney Byron Bergeron for my potentially a felony weapons charge. Byron personally answers the phone, not a secretary like many other attorneys i contacted. Byron is a professional defense attorney who discussed my case with in detail on the phone. After talking to ...Byron on the phone I felt better about my situation and was excited to meet him at his office near downtown Reno later that week. When I met Byron at his office we discussed the case and he answered a bunch of question I had before quoting a very reasonable fee. Byron kept me entirely out of court for which I am very grateful. Not once did I have to be present in a court-room. When a set court date interfered severely with my work schedule Byron was able to to move that for for me. He has a seemingly easy demeanor but is tenacious and sharp and knows the law and sees situations from different perspectives. My job requires that I have nothing serious on my record and Byron made sure to negotiate the original felony charge down to something that wont cause me any problems with back ground checks. Also no probation was imposed , only a fine and I can walk away because this case is closed! So if had to go back and live this ordeal again, would I hire Byron??... Absolutely. If I'm ever facing charges again I wont hesitate to secure Byron's top notch representation

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2023.

Public Reprimand issued in NV, 2023

updated on 10/13/2023

Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Reprimanded issued in NV, 2022

updated on 10/13/2023

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Byron’s comment:

“Reprimanded by a bunch that have never practiced law and do not know the difference between ethical conduct and unethical conduct. I was the only one that acted ethically. I did objected to a zoom hearing because at the time it was a violation of the 6th Amendment right to confront and cross examine, it also violated the 6th Amendment right to a speedy trial. It also violated client confidentiality and voided Nevada Revised Statute NRS179.245.”
