Great! Great! Great!

I hired Kurt Smith to help me with a child support case. My ex wife was trying to collect money from me that I didn't owe. We were divorced in another country and the child support was set, but my wife was trying to get extra money from me plus interest and penalties. I tried to go to court by mys...elf to resolve the issue, but the judge wouldn't listen to me. Thank god for Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith went to court for me and showed the judge exactly what I was trying to tell the judge, but in a way the judge could understand it. I went from owing thousands and thousands of extra dollars to owing zero extra dollars. In fact, the judge ordered my ex wife to pay my attorney's fees as a punishment for lying to the court. I have read some of the other reviews on this site and agree with some of the other reviewers. Mr. Smith is cool, calm, and confident. He has a reason to be. He knows exactly what he is doing and the judges seem to love to listen to every word he says. That is really funny because I got to sit in the back of the courtroom with Mr. Smith before my hearing. I watched the judge interact with several other attorneys. Some of the attorneys made the judge mad. Some of them it seemed like the judge didn't respect. But when Mr. Smith came to the table, the judge was all smiles. I was shocked at how comfortable Mr. Smith was with the judge and how comfortable the judge was with Mr. Smith. My ex wife's attorney didn't stand a chance. He tried to interrupt Mr. Smith several times. All Mr. Smith had to say was "Your Honor" and the judge would shut the other attorney down. This is my only case so I can only speak for my case, but I would absolutely hate to be an attorney on a case against Mr. Smith. When I first went to Mr. Smith's office, he told me he had a great relationship with most of the judges. I didn't know what he meant until we got done with my hearing. At least this judge seemed to absolutely love Mr. Smith. If he has that same relationship with all of the other judges, I can't see how this guy ever loses. Anyway, great attorney. I spent a few thousand dollars, but saved over $35,000 by hiring Mr. Smith. I can't thank him enough.

Attorney's attorney

I was married to a lawyer here in town. My husband wanted to do all of the divorce papers himself so that we could "save money". My husband explained that because he is a lawyer, he knows the law. He wrote up all the paperwork and told me to sign it right away or I would get nothing. I was scared.... I almost signed. Instead, I called Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith reviewed my paperwork for free. He showed my the parts of the paperwork that worked, showed me where my husband was playing games, and showed me where my husband was 100% wrong. He explained how Nevada law REALLY worked and what a judge was likely to rule if we went to trial. I decided to hire Mr. Smith to help me. Best decision ever. Mr. Smith wrote a letter to my husband and told him about the changes I wanted to make to the paperwork. After getting the paperwork, my husband was so mad! He came home and stormed around the house for a few days. (Yes...we were still living together.) A few days later, my husband handed me a new set of divorce paperwork. Guess what was in it...EVERTHING MR. SMITH ASKED FOR!!! I signed the papers that day and we were divorced a week later. My jack*ss ex moved out (I got the house!) and I have never been happier. Best part? It cost me under a thousand dollars. I know attorneys. I was married to one. Most of the attorneys I know are total DBs. Not this guy. Chill, smart, funny, and apparently, at least based on what happened with my ex, better at the law than most other attorneys in town. I would hire him again in a second (but I don't need to because I am never getting married again.) Thanks Kurt!

Better call Kurt!

I hired another attorney to handle my divorce. I won't mention the name because I don't want to give them a dime of free advertising. After "earning" my $15,000 retainer in about two months, they dropped me as a client because I didn't have another $15,000 to give them. I was ready to throw my han...ds up and give up. I told a friend about my situation. He told me I had better call Kurt. Kurt reviewed my case, explained where I was, and told me what I needed to do to finish the divorce. He finished my case for a $3000 flat fee. Unbelievable. 45 days later. Why didn't I call this guy first! A lot of people say you get what you pay for. That wasn't true in my case. I paid $15000 to another firm and got jacksh*t. But with Kurt, you pay for what you get. Mr. Smith was smart, no-nonsense, and reasonably priced. He told me what he would do for me, told me how much it would cost, and did the job. I would get emails from this guy at like 2:00 in the morning. I don't think he ever sleeps. But he earned my thanks and my trust. Next time I need an attorney, Kurt's the man the first time.

Laid back, knowledgable and helpful!

We just had our first consultation with Kurt after I researched him on this site. My husband and I are trying to negotiate bankruptcy and an amicable divorce. It is a very difficult situation, as it is in any legal dispute, and Kurt did a great job of being fair. He steers the conversation away fr...om the why and tries to focus on how to fix the issues at hand. At times I felt, understandably, emotional and he kept trying to keep us focused on brainstorming how to make a plan that works for both of us. It's hard to talk about these types of issues and I was impressed with how he handled our case. We are looking forward to working with Kurt.

Great lawyer

I hired Kurt Smith to help me get custody of my two kids. My ex was withholding my kids. I called the police but they said they couldn't help me. Kurt Smith helped me get Joint Custody of both kids. Great lawyer. Great Law Firm. The staff was great too. The price was pretty good, too. Mr. Smi...th didn't gouge me like some lawyers some of my friends have hired.
