So far Kurt & his team have been doing a great job with their preparation & representation. I can sleep a lot easier now knowing that he's not only an expert and a true artist in his craft, but he's also a realist and will not make promises he can't keep or speculate on what a judge might do...and he... will help keep your focus on what's right for your case & your family. I think a few of the bad reviews I've seen are pure sour grapes where people didn't pay for his well-earned services or can't understand a successful lawyer like his can't always get back to you at the drop of a dime any time you want, or simply don't follow his advice and it costs them. Or sensitive personalities who don't like hearing his frank & blunt candor. I DO appreciate it, because it helps ME. Thank you Kurt. Kurt doesn't yell, hot-dog & grand-stand like these typical lawyers. He is above that and it shows that he's earned the respect of lawyers & judges alike. He's calm, cool, collected -- yet will represent with the best of them. I'm so grateful that Kurt Smith & his team were referred to me. These cases can be very ugly and hurtful as I have learned and he's been the beacon of hope for moving towards what's right for my family, while keeping it real. To the reviewer that complained that he yawned during consultation -- this man just worked on my response that we were forced to file at the last minute all the way to 3:43am this morning, and still showed up at 9am hearing with me and met w/ me later inpromptu when I dropped in his office @ 5pm the same day. I can certainly be empathetic if he's yawning or tired...he's a workaholic machine with many complicated cases, yet WORTH EVERY PENNY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY. His transparent rates on the billing statements are very fair in my opinion. They do NOT nickel and dime you and offer flat-fee retainer agreements which can actually save you a ton of money while getting amazing representation. A true good businessman who's compassionate and employs like-minded ppl. Kurt & team have earned a family lawyer from us for life and I I am beyond grateful for his help and very hopeful for the future of my loved ones.

I was in desperate need of a lawyer. I had a hearing set for 9:00 a.m. the next day, but stupidly waited until the last minute to try to get a lawyer. I did a google search for lawyers and found Kurt Smith's website where it stated that Mr. Smith was available at all times. I submitted a request t...hrough the website and crossed my fingers. I didn't have a lot of hope though because it was about 1:00 in the morning. I was shocked to receive a phone call about a half hour later from Mr. Smith himself. He gave me a phone consultation, thoroughly reviewed my case, and gave me an assessment of where I was in the case and what I needed from that point. I was so impressed, I retained him on the spot. But the best part was that when I showed up the next morning, Mr. Smith was right there waiting for me with a big smile. I was shocked to learn that he had stayed up the rest of the night and wrote all of the paper I needed to proceed in Court the next day, filed them with the Court, and then faxed them to the judge. I was even more amazed when I learned that the judge actually read Mr. Smith's papers, praised him for his hard work, and had fully considered everything Mr. Smith had to say both in his papers and in person. I was shocked when I walked out of the courtroom having won! I thought I was dead in the water. The judge ordered my ex to return the child to my custody immediately. Thanks Kurt! I couldn't have done it without you!

Attorney Smith was hired to represent my case. I was provided with payment options which I greatly appreciated. My case was explained to me in terms I could understand and deadlines were met. At any time I was able to call and speak with Attorney Smith's staff who answered my questions and provide...d me the support needed. My hearing was where Attorney Smith's abilities were best displayed. His ability to obtain a ruling at that first hearing and my case was finalized within 6 weeks. I am forever indebted to this Firm. They were fair, affordable, and do great work.

I needed some family legal help with extremely shorty notice. I had no idea who to reach out to and had limited time to figure it out, which felt overwhelming and stressful. I reached out to a few recommended lawyers but got no reply in the time frame I needed, so I randomly looked up family law. ...I called the number for Smith Family Law from Google, and managed to get a free consultation over the phone. I initially spoke with Kurt's assistant who then directed me to speak with Kurt. I expressed my legal concerns and found Kurt to be thorough and direct, which I appreciated. Kurt was very honest and told me my options, including a route I could take to save myself a ton of legal fees. I was able to have Kurt draw up the legal document I needed in less than 12 hours and he had the document waiting for me first thing the following morning just as he had promised. The legal document covered everything and more, ensuring all went smoothly with my next steps. I was so pleased and wound up saving thousands of dollars by taking Kurt's advice. It was clear to me from there on that Kurt will always be a family lawyer I will trust for any future needs. Everything was easy after that. I don't know what I would have done without Kurt's professionalism, and in depth knowledge of the family legal system. The stress relief felt like a huge weight off my shoulders. Even though he was rude and yawned continuously throughout my consultation, I hired him because his retainer fee was lower than most other lawyers and the other ones were unavailable that week at a family law convention.....And I ended up getting burned badly. He didn't show up to a TPO hearing as p...romised on time and missed the entire thing. Then while discussing details to a custody agreement document, he gripped my shoulder with his hand and rested it there for an uncomfortably long time....and not only did it once but TWICE. Then after I submitted the signed documents to the judge, I called to ask about further details. I was lucky I did because he then suddenly remembered he needed to respond to my counter parts custody filing. So on the last possible day to file it, he asked me to meet him at the court house to sign the paperwork and was late to his following engagement so he went straight to that hearing and made me wait in the parking lot for an hour with my two toddlers. THEN he tried to charge me $2500 for a no show, one filing and his paralegal drawing up those three documents. In addition to THAT his accountant kept leaving off a two hundred dollar payment I made in conjunction with other transactions that were made for his retainer fee, so it took MONTHS to finally resolve the issue. Even though at the end of it all, his accountant STILL never looked fully into it. I had to get my bank statement prepared to send them and when they finally allowed me to pay my account out....his rep mentioned doing it as a favor and avoiding filing a motion for something against me..... It was unbelievable.
