Brandon "Legit" Leavitt is an extraordinary advocate in my case. He is - and not was - because Brandon will always be my attorney for as long as I will need a persuasive, passionate, and powerful voice in Family Court.
It takes a rare and specific kind of skill to navigate the special needs of a case through the legal world of Family Court. Brandon and his team unquestionably perform at peak level (shout out to Kimberly Taylor, a true rockstar paralegal extraordinaire).
Brandon's exremely high ethics command respect, and his resolve under pressure is absolute. Brandon tried so hard and was relentless in his many attempts to reach resolution BEFORE legal remedy in front of our judge. And when it was abundantly clear the other side was not going to negotiate in good faith, Leavitt & Flaxman, with Brandon and Kimberly leading, charged into legal battle.
The fact that Brandon gave every opportunity to opposing counsel to work on resolution with fair compromise, even at percieved disadvantage to himself at times, showed me that he truly cares about the family unit. Brandon understands the value of co-parenting, reduced conflict, and children's best interest above all else. But if the bully is going do what bullies do, Brandon will be there to speak the bully's language, legally.
The results of Brandon's representation of my case could not even be imagined by me, and far exceeded my expectations. The AVVO attorney rating of 10.0 doesn't meet the level; they need to make a special score of 10+, or 11 for who I will affectionately call Brandon "Legit" Leavitt!
Brandon is an outstanding, family-centered, person of integrity. I am happy to recommend him. I hired Brandon in 2017, completely nervous and carrying "baggage" from a highly abusive, complicated 15 year marriage. I started my divorce process slightly mistrusting and likely difficult to work with, in some ways. Through it all, Brandon stayed calm, focused, helpful, aware, knowledgable, supportive, kind, trustworthy and respectful. Brandon helped me get every single thing I had hoped for, and more, in the end--- safety for me and my children, financial stability and a positive future.

Thank You
My Divorce started in Oct. 2014 with another Attorney. Dec. 2014 met with Attorney Leavitt , felt so relaxed that he was thd right Attorney to represent me. Attorney Leavitt filed for substitution of Attorney and took on my case keeping me informed all the way and always keeping me aware of all possible outcomes. He was able to have my case settled by mid February 2015. We had one court date and I completely admired how tenacious he was with opposing counsel before we even entered the Judges chambers. Divorce is a truly nasty business and I am forever grateful that Attorney Leavitt represented me.

The right lawyer for the high conflict or potentially high conflict divorce
I turned to Attorney Leavitt when my case changed course from what I thought was going to be an amicable divorce to a high conflict divorce. He immediately displayed complete understanding of Nevada divorce law and advised me appropriately on all aspects, both my strengths and weaknesses, of the case. He immediately implemented his strategy changing the course in which my case had initially been headed. Through it all he displayed the utmost professionalism and ethics using both my time and resources (money) in ways that would only benefit my case. I highly recommend him to anyone. He is a straight shooter who will listen, work hard, and most importantly look out for your best interests legally. A big thank you to him and his team.

Was up front, honest and friendly. Excellent
Much like everyone else, I was at a point in my life where my world was changing and I needed to look out for the best interest of my family, Brandon K. Leavitt was referred to me by a lawyer not in family law. Brandon was the third lawyer that I met with and right away I knew that he was the right person for my divorce. He was up front, honest and friendly. He asked me what I wanted and let me know what would most likely happen. He informed me of my rights and helped me through the rollercoaster of emotions that came with making this change. I have referred Brandon to my friends and they all appreciate him as well. I know that I went with the right person and received the best deal possible. In closing I feel that part of the reason my EX and I get along so well is because of how fair and honest Brandon was with both of us.

This guy knows his stuff!
I was stuck in a marriage I knew was going no where fast. I wanted out and didn't know what to do. I was given Brandon K. Leavitt's name by a friend of mine who told me I had to call him for help. I thought I would give him a try and I set an appointment just to talk. I showed up for the meeting and was surprised how friendly and knowledge Mr. Leavitt was. He actually looks really young but he has was quoting the law by chapter and verse. His level of knowledge and expertise was impressive. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and helped me understand the law regarding my case. I ended up going with Mr. Leavitt because I could tell he was really aggressive, which was really important to me. Mr. Leavitt did a great job for me and was able to settle my case out of Court. I am really pleased with Mr. Leavitt's professionalism and ability to navigate my situation with ease. If I ever get married and divorced again, Mr. Leavitt will be my first call.

Great Family Lawyer!
I was introduced to Mr. Leavitt 2 years ago while going through a horrible, nasty, Jerry Springer style divorce. Mr. Leavitt, was there for me with answers to any and all question and worked with me through the divorce and child custody battle. I as a father, was awarded joint custody and all of the frustration I had was dealt with by Mr. Leavitt in a swift, fast and supportive manner. Mr. Leavitt, is a straight shooter, with very high morals and ethics. He is a good man and a great lawyer. If you have any family legal matters, make a smart decision and call Brandon Leavitt.

If you have to fight for your rights, feel confident with Brandon!
Brandon was fantastic. My ex was trying to get primary custody of our son and move out of state. Brandon is the reason I now have joint physical custody and my son remained in Las Vegas! He had intimate knowledge of the Family Court system (having worked there) and was extremely skilled at navigating a lot of the red tape. For instance he notified me about the option of Pre-emptive challenge to throw out the initially assigned judge. Very instrumental in my case (got rid of Judge Pomerantz, who is not "dad-friendly"). He was always responsive and kept me informed every step of the way. He was always sensitive to the cost and never intentionally did things to cost me more. I have recommended Brandon to other friends of mine. And they had the same experience that I had. If you have to fight in Family Court, Brandon Leavitt is a guy you can go into battle with!

Good Lawyer
My duaghters mother was all over me about not paying child support to her. She also wouldnt let me see my child unless she allowed it on her terms. A buddy of mine gave me Brandons card. He went to talk to Brandon about soemthing else and liked him. I called Brandon and made an appointment. He was able to see me the next day. He told me straight up about my case and my chances of getting custody of my daughter.
He is an honest dude. I had a tone of questions and he helped me know what to do..
We went to court and the Judge gave me visitation with my duaghter. I still have to pay child support which sucks, but at least I get to have a relationship with my child.
Im glad I called Brandon. I would recommend him whole heart to anyone. He is a good lawyer.

Aggressive.Smart.Good Guy
I was told to call Brandon by a friend of mine. It was the best decision I ever made. What I liked most is that he talked to me all the way through my case and explained everything that was happening and what the JUdge said. When we got to Court he was a lion in the court room. He proved the judge my ex is a liar. He also got me custody of my son. Because of him my son lives with me 3 days a week. AND I do not have to pay alimony! I cannot say enough about Brandon. He is the best and if you need a lawyer he is your man! If I have to go to court again he will be my first call.

The right lawyer in my darkest hour
Brandon did a great job representing me! He was able to get me what I wanted most - MY KIDS! He always returned my call the same day and answered all of my questions. He took the time to explain the law to me and help me understand how the whole process worked. My ex kept delaying things and trying to be sneaky, but Brandon was to make him crumble and he eventually caved in and just quit fighting. If you want a good lawyer who is provides personal service and works hard for you every single day - Brandon is the lawyer for you! I highly recommend him.

Go to someone else
I was going for primary custody of my son and Brenda knew that and he let me know there is always a chance for 50-50, the big issue was that when he represented me in court he didn’t even put up a fight for me or my son. He just let my son‘s dad and his attorney just have everything that he want it, I wish I would’ve went to a different attorney that would’ve thought for me and my son. I fired Brandon and hired a new attorney that helped me actually put up a fight for me but by that time it was already too late because our temporary over was 50-50 which like I said Brandon agreed to and didn’t even try to put up a fight for primary. He wasn’t helpful for anything, if anything I feel like he was working with my ex and his attorney to get whatever he wanted. Moms please go to someone else.

Response from Brandon LeavittAugust 23, 2021
As was explained in detail at this individual's consultation and in writing during the case, the strong public policy in Nevada as dictated by our Legislature in NRS 125C.0035, is that parents share joint physical custody of their children (often called 50-50 custody). Unless a parent is unfit, incarcerated, or simply cannot/does not want to have 50-50 custody of their child(ren), the default in Nevada is that each parent will have joint physical custody (50-50 custody).
I appreciate that this mother wanted to have primary physical custody of her child, but the law and the facts of the case did not warrant that result and the Judge told/explained that to this person in detail.
***Note to anyone who reads this, lawyers have to abide by the law and cannot supersede it. Just because you hire a lawyer does not mean you get everything you want in life.

+1 for Rodney's review from 2014
I have to agree with Rodney about Mr Leavitt. During my case, Mr Leavitt consistently failed to address important issues with opposing counsel outside the courtroom which resulted in missed time with my children and a sense of entitlement in the opposition that they could do whatever they wanted without being held accountable. This was in addition to me needing to question many of his numerous inexplicable recommendations to concede issues unnecessarily "as a show of good faith"; these recommendations seemed to be designed more to avoid him having to stand up and advocate for his client than to effectively address anything. In the courtroom, Mr Leavitt either didn't argue relevant points or conceded them far too quickly to the opposition despite being against his fiduciary duty to represent his client's best interests. I was forced to find new counsel after Mr Leavitt gave grossly inaccurate information and guidance which resulted in me not being able to see one of my children until I perform a financially impossible task. New counsel and opposing counsel have both confirmed that there were other options available to address this particular issue which Mr Leavitt did not disclose, leading me into a very difficult and damaging position which could have been avoided. I must strongly recommend against using Mr Leavitt.

Poor Representation
Brandon Levitt represented me in my divorce. He did nothing for me. Mr. Levitt constantly gave in to the opposition during negotiations and never stood up for me. I had to speak to him privately several times during settlement conferences, to make sure he was on my side. He did not demonstrate to me that he was very knowledgeable and just wanted to get the case finished, no matter how badly it affected me. His final bill 300% higher than his initial estimate of how much it would cost. Mr. Levitt also ignored my request for him to withdraw as my attorney and continued on the case and continued billing me, even after I filed a substitution of attorney to represent myself. My advice is to avoid retaining Brandon Levitt as an attorney. He does not represent fathers well at all.
