I am taking the time to write this review to thank Attorney April Jones and Mr. Jones for the incredible job that they did on my brother’s eviction case. As importantly, I am hopeful that others who are of lesser means and find themselves the same situation come across this review and it serves to h...elp them to avoid the very real and damaging impact of eviction. After reaching out to two other low-income resources who, after explaining my brother’s situation, informed me that it was unlikely that he had any chance of remaining in his home, I found Colorado Affordable Legal Services (CALS) though an internet search. Anyone facing eviction in CO knows that this a speedy process and by the time I found CALS, we had only a few days before the filing deadline. I called on a holiday and expected to get a return call the next day. To my surprise, Mr. Jones called me back within an hour saying that he was in the office catching up on work. I explained my situation and he immediately began to provide me with detailed information, including a step-by-step process for responding to an eviction. In addition to his apparent technical expertise, Mr. Jones displayed a genuine concern for my brother’s cause, and this was important to me. Knowing that my brother would surely be evicted within days without legal representation, I decided to go with CALS. Knowing the timeline, Mr. Jones made it a priority to get my brother an appointment with Attorney Jones the next day. From that day forward, Attorney Jones became my brother’s legal advocate. The service she provided at such an affordable rate was second to none. She crafted a solid legal response and persistently pursued a positive outcome. Aside from her astute legal mind, what I admired most about her approach is that she did not offer false promises. It’s a unique individual who possesses the ability to operate in a practical and forthright manner while maintaining a lens of compassion. When you come across this balance in a person you have found someone who will effectively fight hard for you because their motives are pure, and their focus is clear. We found that in Attorney Jones. She managed to get my brother a second chance and, throughout the entire process, she was in constant communication with us. In eviction cases, when you don’t know if you’ll have a place to live within days, this attention to ensuring regular communication greatly helped in easing the anxiety over the entire situation. I knew nothing about this firm when, in desperation, I called them on that holiday weekend, during a very difficult time. I hope this review helps someone out there to know that I have every confidence in Attorney Jones and Mr. Jones because they helped me and my brother when no one else would and they managed to stop his impending eviction and get him a second chance. They are committed to helping the underrepresented. In my experience, theirs seems to be a social cause, which calls to mind Dr. King’s sentiments that “Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?” I can personally attest that this firm will fight for you.

Colorado Affordable Legal Services, LLC is wonderful! April L. Jones agreed to speak with me very quickly regarding disputes with a previous landlord who was trying to seek damages. Not only was this law firm affordable, but they spent a lot of time with me going over all my options, helping me with ...a plan, letting me know what my rights are as a tenant, how the entire process will work, what to expect next, and so on, at no extra cost. I have never been through court proceedings and they made sure I understood everything, and that I was prepared for what was to come. I felt so much better after I talked with them, and felt more empowered to fight my landlords unlawful claims and actions. Although I hope that this was the last time I will need this law firm and the problem gets resolved as soon as possible, should I continue to need them I am confident that I will be in good hands.
