In Russ I trust !!!!!
My name is Maxamillion Powdrill sr. ...I would like to give the most thanks and appreciation to Mr.Russell Lorfing for being the most concerned and hard fighting lawyer I've ever seen and hired I was facing a 25 to life with my criminal history but this being my first violent crime charge I knew they...
Max! Thank you for the kind words and sharing your experience with my firm here on Avvo. I am thankful you gave me the chance to fight for you and prove that I am a different kind of attorney. I remember the day we first met and you telling me you wanted to take this case all the way to trial if we couldn't get it dismissed. Those are some tall orders but I am always up for a challenge, especially when a man has been falsely accused. In the end, we were able to get the case dismissed. You got your freedom and I made a new friend. Thanks again for letting me represent you.

Delivered an incredible victory!
Russell represented my brother Cody. Cody has been in and out of prison most of his life. He was definitely the black sheep of the family. However, a year and a half ago he got into some trouble and I was looking at 25 years to life. This was in Montgomery county Texas. Cody and I was most certain h...

Incredible Attorney
I was a victim of cyberstalking in Lubbock County. Russell Lorfing was the prosecutor on my case. I can't put into words the level of excellence Mr. Lorfing is. Not only is he very knowledgeable about the law, but he also was very sincere and understanding about my emotional state. I honestly could ...
In all my years serving as a federal prosecutor, I've never met anyone quite like you Angela. You will forever have a special place in my heart and will always serve as a reminder of what true bravery looks like. To this day, I tell my clients who are afraid to testify about the day you walked into federal court and courageously took the stand to confront your abuser. Bravo my friend.

Fantastic attorney
Russell's experience as a prosectuor and defense counsel in both civil and criminal law have made him an excellent attorney. Both judges and juries love him, and he knows the law backwards and forwards. If I have a legal issue in the Big Country, he is my first call.
I appreciate the vote of confidence Javier. I always strive to represent my clients to the best of my ability.

If you need legal help, there’s not a better Lawyer in Abilene
I was looking at a really long time in federal prison and Russell was able to get me cleared of my charges through his expansive knowledge of both sides of the prosecuting and defensive sides of the law. If you’re considering a lawyer in the Abilene area I can’t recommend him enough. Great lawyer and...
Your case will always stick with me. I'll never forget meeting you and seeing that look of despair in your eyes. You were facing life in prison for a crime you didn't commit. I admit it seemed fairly hopeless from my perspective too. Anytime the United States government charges you with serious felony charges, the odds are stacked against you. Last I checked, 97% of federal cases end in a conviction. I am so incredibly happy you are in the 3% that escaped a federal conviction. We went toe-to-toe with the feds and WON. It is certainly rare to have a federal case dismissed entirely but we accomplished the impossible because you were courageous in the face of adversity and because our firm didn't back down and took the time to review every nook and cranny of your case. Thank God we did.
"Mr. Lorfing has long been an outstanding attorney, both as a prosecutor and for the defense. There is absolutely no one I would recommend ahead of him in the areas he practices in."
"Russell is experienced, intelligent, and caring. He is very passionate about representing his clients and going the extra mile."
"There is not a more tenacious fighter that you can have on your side than Russell. He is smart,, caring, and dedicated. He can negotiate when needed but is not afraid to take a matter to trial...and win! I have seen his work up close. Not only would I refer clients to him, I would hire him if I needed help."
"Russell is a fantastic advocate for his clients! He tirelessly works to ensure that he has the best approach in every case in order to best serve his clients. I had the opportunity to work with him when we were both federal prosecutors and to consult with him on cases since we both entered private practice. Russell never stops learning because he not only wants the best result for his client, he truly cares about what happens to the client. His natural trial abilities combined with the passion he has for his clients sets him above the other attorneys in West Texas. I endorse Russell without hesitation!"
"Russell Lorfing is a great advocate with a lot of experience handling both simple and extremely complex matters. Russell and I were at law school together and advocated with and against each other, and even back then and he was a fantastic advocate. After he graduated, he became a respected Federal Prosecutor, and he’ll use that experience to help you when you need it most. Russell has all the tools a great lawyer needs to get the best results for his clients. Highly Recommend him to anyone who finds themselves needing a legal bodyguard."
"Russell Lorfing is a hard charging federal defense attorney with stellar credentials and an unmatched work ethic. More importantly though, Russell is a devoted family man and friend. He cares about his clients, sees his work as purpose, and treats every client problem as if the problem were his own. Russell has a great attitude, works well with opposing counsel, is professional, and will go the extra mile. He believes in doing the right thing and treating others with respect and dignity. Russell has a way with people and strives to leave everyone he meets feeling good about who they are."
