Withholding Refunds for Bad Reviews

I got a quote from Susan in October, and I thought she stated the price was $2,200 over the phone. I waited a few months to save up some money, and got money from my father to help me out. I reached out to Susan again once I could pay for it, and she said prices was $2,500 but is now $2,400 - mayb...e I just misremembered so not a big deal. I wire her the money, and we schedule a call. I go over all my finances - income, expenses, assets, etc. Then I mention how I got a monetary gift from my father, and she stated this would be counted as income (I’ve heard mixed things on the validity of this). This means I would have to wait 6 months to file for bankruptcy, and to sign a retainer. She sends over the retainer that said her services cost $2,200 after I paid $2,400. Six months go by, and I send her all the documents, but she says I’m sending them to her in a ZIP file when I’m not (she is probably just clicking download all which automatically puts it into a zip). This back and forth between files takes weeks as sometimes she takes TWO WEEKS to respond to an email after I bump up the email three separate times in her inbox. She says it’s fine, and she’ll do it and she’ll get a proof to me by the end of the day. End of the day comes - nothing. I keep asking about it, but I get silence in return. Two weeks later I call her as it’s almost the last of the month, and I get no answer. She finally returns my call and says she’ll work on it. She calls me back shortly and says she’ll actually already worked on it, and my expenses aren’t enough to pass the means test… This is after she knew what my expenses were for 6 months!!! After this I send her an email asking if my psychiatrist appointments would count as an expense and why she didn’t bring up my low expenses 6 months ago. She replied with the following: “You told me to wait on your file until you got a job this semester, teaching. Everything would have been evaluated then. Maybe you just need another lawyer — but you will NOT get a full refund. I have waited months & worked the entire file.” None of this is a true, I’m not a teacher and didn’t have plans to teach. She told me I had to wait to file because my gift would be counted as income. After saying she’d give me an invoice and a refund she didn’t give me an invoice or a refund until a month later when I had to reach out again. She then said she will only refund $600. So she got a payday of $2,138 from me (because $338 would’ve went to the court anyway for the filing fee) because she “worked my file”. Idk what she worked because I told her my expenses when I first talked to her. She is severely unorganized, unresponsive, rude, and condescending. She will make some snide reply acting like she’s in the right as she does with every other one star review. This is a big part of your life, so I’d recommend going to an attorney that is competent She is threatening to withold my refund that she already agreed to if I do not take down my reviews :)

Grievance

If you people are looking for an attorney, do not hire this one. She is a crooked one. She ripped me off my money ($600.00 dollars) for doing nothing about my case. She is very unprofessional, Seems like once she got your business, she does not like to talk to you anymore. She gets bother if you call...ed her office to leave a message. Her answering machine is set to "pick-up and hag-up right away". It happens two or three times, finally she answers herself, telling you that you are not supposed to call. .She is very rude and unprofessional. I do not like attorneys with that attitude. So be careful!

The Worst Experience I've Ever Had

I gave Susan G. Taylor the last of my money. In fact, I had about $30 left to my name after I forked over $1,500 to her incredulous, demeaning, and irritable assistant. It took about 24 hours to get a receipt via email, which I requested, but obviously my fee didn't include the basics of custom...er service, which both Susan and her above reproach assistant cannot comprehend. I had told them numerous times their website header didn't show the text they insisted was there. And it was only when Susan acquiesced to listening (something she can't do very well) did she see her website is a mess and it's not FTC compliant. After receiving the documentation to my email with over 15 PDF attachments I was overwhelmed and confused. Her motto is, "Pay me my money, I'll treat you like crap, and you'll like it or I'll fire you and take all your money." I kept telling both her and her incessantly degrading assistant their documents weren't coming through and both of them REFUSED to listen. Going so far as being as B*tchy as they possibly could on the phone to me. I called multiple times, emailed and ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. I sent screen shares showing how I couldn't access the documents, and STILL nothing. And then this absolute unprofessional nasty rude woman took all my money, refused to give me anything back and didn't give me anything for it. I have on paperwork. I have nothing but a contract that I hired her. So basically this is what you get when you hire Susan G. Taylor. You get to pay for her $500 hair color services. You get to pay for her shopping sprees and you get treated like a piece of dung on the bottom of her shoe. Good luck with this hot mess express. I filed a grievance with the State Bar of Texas after she took all of my unemployment money and screwed me over. It's attorneys like this that make it horrible for everyone. Hire at your own risk. I wouldn't even bother. She's like Cruella, nice at the start and a total nightmare after you give her money.

Great Attorney

Being that I am out of town alot, Susan was able to meet my needs and schedule an over the phone meeting. She answered all my questions, was very knowledgeable, she is confident in what she does which made me feel confident and comfortable having her handle my bankruptcy. She is direct and to the ...point which is what I liked most about her. Her prices are reasonable and fair. I did my research in searching for the right attorney. I know I made the right decision. I recommend Susan to anyone who wants a job well done!

Beware: she’ll take your money and not do any work for you after the free consultation visit.

We visited Susan for our “free” consultation visit and initially placed a $2,000 down payment. Later on the same day, we realized that we can’t wait 6-8 months until our case is discharged so I asked her for my money back. She only gave me half of it but refused to give me the rest. Her email said “i...t will take 90 days to close your case then we will send you a refund”....What case?? She never represented us. We never gave her our paperwork after the first visit. She had the NERVE to accuse me of not telling them we were deaf. I called them several times before the first visit using Sorensen VP Relay. That is a big “WE ARE DEAF” flag. She said that she has to charge me for the FREE consultation visit even though it is advertised on her website that it is FREE. During our visit, she answered a lot of phone calls, emails, let people walk in during our visit, etc...so it’s not like she gave us her undivided attention. So what excuse does she have to keep my remaining $1,000? NOTHING.
