Very satisfied with service received

I'm an attorney myself, so when it came to choosing an attorney to assist me with applying for disability retirement through the Federal Employees' Retirement System, I tried to do my homework and thoroughly research attorneys and law firms. I spoke with several, and ultimately felt the most comfort...able and confident with Mr. Wersing and his team, including Bethany Sissons, a paralegal. They did not disappoint! From thoroughly explaining the process to me, to giving me clear directives on what I needed to do to help prepare my claim paperwork (it's the government - there's tons of paperwork to gather and complete), to answering my questions, to keeping me informed about where things stood in the process, Mr. Wersing and his team did a great job, and my application was approved on the first try. I credit that in large part to the aforementioned paralegal, Bethany Sissons, staying on top of the development of my paperwork and making sure I had a complete and correct application. For anyone considering hiring someone to help you with the FERS disability process, the reality is that nobody can do the whole thing for you. There is a lot of back and forth with your agency and a lot of documentation that you, as the employee, have to help gather (even if you're just filling out medical record release forms to send records to the firm, rather than getting your own medical records and forwarding them yourself (which is faster)). But Mr. Wersing and Ms. Sissons broke down the tasks I needed to complete to help them help me into a clear, actionable plan, which, again made the process smooth and, most importantly, successful. Finally, I found the cost structure extremely fair and reasonable, given the value received.

A Lawyer Who Listens

I was accused of harassment and faced stiff disciplinary penalties. After contacting several other law offices (many of which included a consultation fee), I finally found a lawyer who not only listened to my case but also understood the nuance of the situation. Jacquelyn Trevino worked with me to co...nstruct a coherent, cohesive defense. Ultimately, I was able to retain my position. The resolution wasn't entirely satisfactory due to extenuating circumstances (agency personality conflicts, agency omitting key information, agency staffing issues, slow agency legal counsel, and a vengeful HR rep) and an overly delayed response from the agency, but I received the overall outcome I sought. Jacquelyn worked with me to gain more insight, asked for evidence to support my claims, represented me orally and in writing, and attempted to appeal on my behalf. I fully believe that without her help I would have not retained my employment. I would recommend this law office to any federal employee facing disciplinary or adverse actions.

Aaron is Your Best Choice

Aaron Wersing is a great attorney, he’s also a kind, honest, and humble person. My decision to hire the Wersing Law Firm was the best career decision of my life. Not only is he an extremely confident and accessible attorney he was always well prepared for every meeting and never had to cancel or res...et a hearing. I never had issues reaching him directly or him responding to my questions or concerns without delay. His attorney fees are extremely reasonable, and he often went above and beyond what he was paid to do. I never felt like I was just a file number at the Wersing Law Firm; Aaron and his staff kept me updated on my case without me having to contact the office. In summary, my case was handled professionally, timely, and ultimately in my favor and I believe that my decision to hire the Wersing Law Firm changed my life. Thank You Wersing Law Firm, I am most grateful.

I made a poor choice.

I hired Wersing because of his FERS experience. I paid a $5000.00 Retainer. Next, he could not understand my case and charged me to explain it to him. After that, he charged me to prepare Interrogatories and never filed a Motion to Compel after OPM ignored them. So I was charged for negligence. ...Then I get an email from another attorney claiming Wersing transferred my case to her. I terminated Wersing and only got back $1,370.00 of my $5000.00 Retainer.

A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidences has few exceptions and as such I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point-by-point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that this post does not present a fair and accurate picture of the events.

Got the job done.

Aaron Wersing worked within the tight time frame, and really stayed on top of things. He explained what needed to happen, and what would give us the best chance of getting the rejection for my disability retirement overturned. And it was!
