I would like to post a this review to explain my experience having attorney Brett Podolsky defend me against a false accusation made by an ex-girlfriend. This resulted in felony charges for supposedly attacking and choking my GF at the time. According to the police she was beaten and choked unt...il she thought she was going to die. They had statements and photos. I was innocent of these charges and at the time I was arrested, I was a cadet at the DPS Police Academy. I was arrested in Austin, Texas where I stayed in jail for weeks before I was extradited back to Houston where the case was filed. I worked very hard to get accepted to the DPS Academy and was devastated and humiliated when I was arrested in front of other cadets. My family and I met with several lawyers and decided on Mr. Podolsky as he seemed to be best able to fight the case for me. It was the best choice we ever made. It took almost a year with the DA trying to send me to prison and then probation and then they offered to reduce the case to a misdemeanor. Every time they came at us with an unacceptable offer, Brett had the evidence and documents and arguments to shoot it down. He believed in my innocence and never once did he try to pressure me to "plea out" or take a deal. I watched in court as things sometime got heated with the DAs but he never budged. Finally the DA agreed to dismiss the case. I was in court with family and we almost broke down in the middle of the courtroom. I was wrongfully accused of domestic assault by my vindictive ex-wife. The state felt they had a solid case with photo evidence and multiple eyewitnesses, who were all related to/close friends with my ex-wife - I knew it was all faked, but how do you prove that to a jury? Brett did just that, dismant...ling the state's case completely with thorough cross-examination, solid review of the evidence, and an incredible closing statement. I only had myself and a single character witness to testifiy and the character witness wasn't even needed. The jury came back with the not guilty verdict within minutes. If you have been wrongfully accused, you need Brett. End of story
