My husband spent money on his mistress

I hired Mark Lane to help me when my husband started spending all of our money buying his mistress expensive shoes, clothes, purses & a new apartment. All while our kids were doing without. Mr. lane had integrity when it comes to taking care of kids. He did npt let my ex get away with it! I couldn...’t pay all of my bill, but I tried. His staff said just to do what I could and if I couldn’t they wouldn’t hold it against me. The office staff is very helpful.

Can't even remember clients

BEWARE......I use Mark Lane to help straighten out multiple decrees in one divorce. He didn't help me at all, the billing was ridiculous, Pam had no clue what was going on. Needless to say I thought the nightmare was over. I receive a knock on my door being served from my from a servicer that my ...ex-husband was trying to file for custody and guess who his attorney was MARK LANE MY ATTORNEY!! That means Mark had had consulted with my ex-husband and didn't even realize he had already represented me against him. What kind of whack job law firm are you running. I had to call and talk with multiple people and explain the situation and all they did was stutter and oh my gosh I'm going to have to call you back and I did finally get a call back and of course Mark Lane was recusing himself off the case. Does he not have a case log of who he has represented? Of course he does. And also he looks up all the dockets and sees who the attorneys were. How in the world did he take a retainer from my ex-husband and have me filed knowing good gosh darn well he was my attorney and I told him attorney-client privileged information and he consulted with my ex-husband and got privileged information that is scary you cannot tell me that that information can just slip through the cracks. BEWARE.. needless to say I got the best attorney in the DFW area and it all turned out great. But stay away from this firm

Surprise Fees

He was my divorce lawyer, and he charged me for every phone call, every email, any follow-up paperwork I had to ask about, or any contact with his office in general. This was all in addition to the retainer. He spoke to me once, and then on I only spoke to his PAs. After the divorce was done and I no... longer needed his services, he threaded to sue me when my final cost was $3,000 more than I was told it would be and I told him I could not pay it all up front. I had to charge it all on credit cards to avoid a law suit. Definitely would not recommend.

If you are looking for a great lawyer, you found him.

I retained Mark after having a very awful experience (very costly too) with another attorney. His office is very timely, very professional and caring. My court/mediation experience went very well and I highly recommend his services. He knows his business well but is also a good Christian man. Look no... further if you need a good family lawyer.

Run!!!

I hope to save someone the nightmare that I experienced with this attorney. Completely disrespectful, and unprofessional. Mr. Lane does not realize that he works for his clients, not vice versa... He will sell you up front on results, but will not deliver. After paying my retainer I had a very hard ...time getting a bill from Mr. Lane so that I could reconcile work actually performed. Three months later I did receive an outrageous bill. My retainer had been used completely, and I had a bill for another $5000.00. Absolutely no results whatsoever. Just save yourself the time, and hassle by moving onto an honest attorney that will work on your behalf, not just run up your bill. I finally fired Mr. Lane and hired someone that delivered the results that we were looking for, and delivered those results for about 20% of what Mark Lane was trying to charge!! Yes, that's right 20%! Run far and run fast!

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
