I was arrested for a DWI in early 2017. I called several attorneys before deciding to hire Carl. I was impressed by Carl's knowledge and ability to clearly and concisely explain things. I had the pleasure of hiring Carl for 2 separate arrests: DWI and later possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance. . At first, I met with a local lawyer in Denton for consultation. My DWI didn't look pretty. They had solid video evidence of intoxication and an admission of drinking. They had a witness who called the police, suspecting a drunk driver. The only thing they didn't have was a blood or breath test. It was going to be a tough trial and a case truly in the hands of the typically harsh jury in Denton County. We reached a plea deal for Obstruction, which was a God-send to avoid what would have been a very unpredictable trial. I believe Denton County gave me a particularly sweet plea deal because they knew Carl was going to be as prepared and determined as he showcased in the pre-trial proceedings. For example, as the court was dealing with another case, the judge rhetorically asked the courtroom if anyone knew the name of a particular judge in a specific Collin County courtroom. Carl instantly reminded the judge of the name in question. Of course, the judge was only asking aloud to spur his own memory, not expecting anyone in attendence to actually know the answer. The stage was set. The possession charge happened because when I was later pulled over, I became nervous due to all the consequences of the above case (unresolved then). Noticing this, the cop thought I must be doing something wrong and I stupidly let him search my car to prove that I wasn't. He finds a single blue pill that inspires more Scooby Doo conclusions in the mean streets of West Plano. Turns out, the blue pill is Vyvanse that was subscribed to a friend years ago. Another classic case of "don't ever consent to a search." Luckily, I had Carl on my side and justice prevailed once again.

I was an innmate in Collin County with no money, homeless, strung out on drugs, and just wanted to die. For whatever reason God or whatever or whoever decided to bless me by appointing him as my court appointed attorney. I say I was blessed because since the day this man has walked into my life miric...ales have happened and I have a life that I never even could have dreamed of all because Carl honestly cared about me and believed in me even when I couldn't believe in myself. He fought for my freedom as if I was a paying client and fought for my life as if he was fighting for his and I will be eternally grateful to him for that. Because Carl believed in me, didn't treat me like a second class citizen, never gave up on me, fought my case as hard if not harder as any lawyer I have ever paid thousands of dollars to, and continued to believe in me I was lucky enough to get a chance of a lifetime and was sentenced to a 30,000 drug rehab in Austin texas and was fully scholarshiped. I should have been sentenced to prison on the day of my trial but as I stated before because Carl believed in me so much and had so much conviction while talking to my judge I was blessed with this opportunity. I now am still living in Austin, have 90 days sober, and most of all have a reason to live today and I can promise u that wasn't the case when I met him. I now do believe in myself and love who I am becoming. I have options in my life today because I can do anything I want to because I'm sober! I'm no longer a slave to drugs and the lifestyle that comes along with that and that is all due to Carl believing in me. I am a lucky woman to have been able to work with him and he has forever changed my life and probably doesn't even know it. He is so humble, kind, caring, and not to mention the best attorney I have ever had and I've had some pretty big important attorneys before who got paid a lot of money. Carl did more for me for free then any of those high paid attornies did. I wish everyone that needed a lawyer got the chance to work with him because he is amazing and an amazing person but I know that's not possible. I think the most important thing I want people to get from this is that I am alive today, not on drugs, and have a beautiful life because one man believed in me when I couldn't believe in myself. He understands the importance of treatment over prison and treats all of his clients as equals with no judgment. Every attorney should take lessons from him because I promise he is one of a kind. I will never forget everything he did for me and he will never truly know how much he changed my life and how grateful I am for him. There are no words that I can say that would even come close to explaining how amazing he is. I would reccomend Carl to represent anyone I love or to anyone else because I know what good hands they would be in. He is fair, very smart, knows the law and our rights, and will fight til the end for those rights because he knows that's the right thing to do. If you are lucky enough to receive legal advice from him then hold on cause ur in for the best experience of your life!

I was in a difficult situation. I was on DWI 3 PROBATION and messed up with 2 FELONIES... NOT GOOD... Carl came and saw me in the County and assured me that I was only going to have serve a minimal time in TDCJ... BOY was he right !!! I set a new record... I was there for 11 days !!!! CARL advised m...e to sign and get it over with... BUT WHAT GOT ME.... Was he said this would be the advice I WOULD GIVE TO MY BROTHER... Somehow that really resonated with me... I WISH I would have known him when I plead on the DWI 3 seven years ago..
