About me

Mark Lassiter is a talented aggressive young defense attorney with a wealth of experience rarely found in lawyers.  Because of his tenacity attorney's with 20 years of experience sought him out to found the firm Barrett Bright Lassiter Linder.  There Mark serves as a founding partner.

Mark is a veteran of over 50 jury trials.  He has trials in all courts from misdemeanors to Federal jury trials and knows what it takes to be effective.

Mark graduated from South Texas College
of Law where he excelled in the nation’s # 1 Trial Advocacy law school. He was
selected to serve as a Trial Advocate in just his first year of law
school.  During his time as a
member of South Texas mock trial program Mark competed and excelled in numerous
competitions throughout the nation.

Mark continued to hone his trial skills by joining the Dallas County District Attorney's
as an Assistant District Attorney on his graduation from law school. There, as
a prosecutor Mark Lassiter handled countless cases including DWI, Assault, and
Drug Offenses. During his tenure at the District Attorney's Office Mark
developed a reputation as an excellent trial attorney gaining respect from his
peers at the DA's office and defense attorneys alike.

Before Mark went to law school he attended Texas A&M University graduating with high
honors and a degree in Business Management.

Mark has also served in the Armed Forces for 10 years. He began his career in
the Army at 18 years old as an Airborne Infantryman. There he served as part of
the 143rd Long Range Surveillance Team (LRS). This team was designed to
parachute in behind enemy lines and radio crucial intelligence back to the
front lines, all without being detected. This required countless hours of
training and attention to detail because any small mistake could lead
disastrous results for the entire team. It was here that Mark learned what it
means to work under timetables in a stress filled environment. He learned what
it takes to get things done and he will put that knowledge to work for you.

Mark continued his career in the Army by becoming an M1AbramsA2 tank gunner.
During the course of his training on this battle tank Mark received an award
for the honor graduate of his class.
While serving as a tank gunner Lassiter was selected to attend Officer
Candidate School. This school transformed enlisted soldiers into officers.
Lassiter again received honors for his excellent performance throughout his
attendance at Officer Candidate School. From there Mark was selected to serve
as a member of the JAG Corp due to his legal expertise. After 10 years of
faithful service Mark retired from active service.

Mark believes in
giving back to the community and the schools that taught him the trial skills
necessary to be successful.  He has
shown this by becoming a coach for the Mock Trial teams at Southern Methodist
University.  There, Mark volunteers
his time to teach young law students how to become effective trial attorneys.
