Biography
For over 42 years I have had the privilege of practicing Family Law. It is one of the most challenging areas of the law because it incorporates so many other areas, such as real estate, probate, forensic accounting, litigation, negotiation, business valuation, custody of children, mediation, business enterprises, bankruptcy law, and many other areas.
I find that one of the most interesting areas is the representation of children whose parents are engaged in litigation over their custody or parenting time. I have been appointed to represent children by numerous judges in assisting the court in its determination of the best interest of the child(ren). I find it to be one of the most rewarding things that a family law attorney can do.
Having a suburban, as well as a downtown Chicago office, allows our clients the convenience of being close to their homes without the need to travel downtown just to meet with their attorney. Our suburban office is strategically placed in the Northwest Suburbs (Hanover Park) accessible to the suburban Cook County courts and courts in Du Page, Kane, Lake and Mc Henry counties. Our Chicago office is only one block from the Daley Center courts.
I am proud of our experienced and dedicated staff. Kurt Hurtgen, my associate attorney has been with us for over four years. Kurt has over 13 years of experience as an attorney. He has practiced in several areas of the law in addition to his years as a family law attorney.
Francine has been my paralegal assistant for over 20 years. I think that at times she can read my mind and knows just what I want to have her tell our clients. She is efficient, dedicated and accessible to our clients.
Jennifer is the most recent addition to the office. After working with another family law firm for several years, she has been with us now for over three years and has made a seamless fit with us.
