Review of a physician contract offer; guidance in negotiations. Over many years I've dealt with multiple high end attorneys on employment contracts. As it relates to my concerns, I would rank Mr. McLeod with the best of them. He demonstrated superb knowledge of the law and awareness of potential benefits and risks for me secondary to the language used in the contract. He acknowledged areas specific to my discipline with which he (nor most other attorneys) was not familiar. He engaged me in the process and maintained the focus on my overall priorities. Finally, I was left with a confidence that he would be willing and able to aggressively represent me should there be an employment conflict in the future.

I cannot say enough positive things about Nick McLeod! He was an integral part of my legal team that won my case in federal court. He was so thorough, intelligent, well versed in the law and always available for me when I had questions. From day one he and the rest of the team made me feel as though I was their only client. He would always answer calls and emails immediately. Even after it was over his care continued when I had financial questions. Thank you so much Nick! I am forever appreciative for all of your expertise!

I quit my job because my employer broke my employment agreement. It was also difficult collecting money owed to me from this employer, That employer also fought my UI claim. I was thankful for Nick's expertise and help in this matter. He was compassionate, thorough, and well versed in all areas of employment law. When I went to my hearing, it was obvious I had the best attorney and he won the UI case. He recovered all money owed to me and I felt blessed and very thankful that he was my attorney.

I was dismissed from my former employer under false accusations, I filed for unemployment benefits and benefits were granted. My former employer immediately filed an appeal. Not knowing the processes of an unemployment appeal I contacted Attorney McLeod. Nick is very knowledgeable, honest, compassionate, and understanding. He immediately put me at ease. He prepared me exceptional well for the hearing through both our consultations and the written materials I was given. Nick's professionalism is outstanding. Through his questioning at the hearing, the employers accusations were deemed to be hearsay and I won the appeal. I highly recommend Nick to anyone with an employment issue. He does a thorough and great job. Thanks, Nick!

I was presented with a very complicated non-compete from a prospective employer. I needed an expert opinion and engaged Attorney Nicholas McLeod of the Alan Olson Law Firm to review the document. I want to start this review by stating emphatically that I would highly recommend Nick to anyone who is faced with signing a non-compete. He is an expert in Wisconsin non-compete laws, and what they mean from a legal and practical standpoint. I deal with many attorneys in my profession, and in his area of expertise I believe that he is one of the best around.
Nick started the meeting by carefully explaining to me the five components that constitute a valid non-compete in WI, and what a non-compete means from a practical perspective. His explanation was extremely beneficial in setting the stage for our subsequent discussions.
Nick took the time to walk me through each provision of the non-compete, explaining the ramification of each, and thoroughly answered all of my many questions. He explained to me what would happen in the event that the non-compete was ever enforced, and what my options may be at that time. Nick expressed the seriousness of the document and advised me to approach the agreement from the perspective that it will be enforced. He explained the non-compete and framed it in a way that I could understand, and gave me the insight and advice I needed to help with my decision on whether or not to sign the document.
What was most helpful is that Nick gave me two strategies to employ in negotiating the non-compete with the employer that never would have occurred to me on my own. He also pointed out a prevailing attorney’s fees provision that could be very costly to me if the non-compete was ever disputed, and gave me advice on how to make the provision more equitable. Had I not met with Nick, I may have signed a document that could have serious financial consequences for me and my family. Nick’s advice and recommendations are worth far more than the cost of the consultation.
I could not be more pleased with Nick’s work and feel very fortunate that we met.

I hired Attorney McCleod because I was denied unemployment due to false information give to the State by the company I worked for. He was very helpful and responded quickly to any concerns I had. I have already recommended him to several people.
