Expert knowledge, empathy and experience

I was terminated by my employer due to misconduct. My solid work ethic, education and many years of recognized performance did not prepare me for the mental trauma that followed. Because of the false accusation I was denied unemployment benefits. The adjudicator for unemployment did not uncover... the facts in the phone conversations and the errors in his report were more upsetting. I had never been fired, unemployed or without an income. The feelings of being denigrated and demoralized were overwhelming with physical symptoms. Despite having a paralegal certificate, I felt trampled and unable to adequately represent myself during the appeal process. Attorney Nick McLeod responded to my online inquiry. Not having an income and hesitant to spend any savings, I questioned utilizing an attorney. I made the wisest decision for myself. After our fact finding consultation that included a power outage, I left his office feeling able to breathe, eat and sleep normal again. It was obvious to me that this attorney reflected my own values and work ethic and would focus on the legal issues. Nick is extremely knowledgeable in employment law. He empathizes but can remain objective, confident and reassuring. He assumes the role of a great coach and manager, thoroughly preparing with different strategies. He promptly responds to concerns with phone calls and emails. I have no doubt that he approaches all of his clients and their cases this way. Retaining Nick was an investment in myself. I continue to thank him for his ethical and diligent representation and I am completely satisfied with our victorious appeal. Nobody anticipates going through a process like this but if I were ever to encounter it again, Nick McLeod would be my first and only choice.

Extremely Courteous & Professional Attorney, Highly Recommended!!! :)

You hope that you never really have to get legal representation, (because unfortunately, that often means there is a stressful legal dispute that needs to be solved) but sometimes, things happen in life where you absolutely need an honest attorneys knowledge and support, and this was one of those tim...es.... I endured harrassment at the hands of my own employer and was forced to resign, due to the fact that Human Resources refused to stop this individual's unethical behavior, discipline the individual in question, or protect me by transferring / removing me from the situation.... Despite me choosing to resign, I was met with encouragement from my former employer, who assured me that they were extremely sorry I had to endure such harrassment, understood my reasons for leaving, and even encouraged me to apply for unemployment.... However, after applying for unemployment, I was also blindsided by the same HR director's false statements to unemployment, claiming little to no knowledge of such harrassment, (even though myself and another employee already filed a written complaint) they acted as if I "quit for no reason" leading to an unfair denial and no unemployment benefits, due to my former employers dishonesty..... I was referred to Attorney Nick McLeod (Alan Olsen & Associates) who met with me face to face. He calmly assured me that I was doing the right thing, and not to worry, as he was confident we would win the case..... He showed compassion, and a genuine interest in my case, as we went over every detail for almost 2 hours.... We also went over witness statements and guidelines for giving testimony and responding to cross-examination, all in preparation of my future court date... I appealed the previous decision and a hearing was set in front of an administrative law judge. Nick questioned my former employer so thoroughly, to the point of them eventually becoming flustered! They had no choice but to admit (in front of the judge) that the harrassment occured (even though they downplayed the severity of it) with Mr. McLeod's expertise, the judge saw right through it, and granted my appeal, reversing the original denial and approving my unemployment benefits! .... This wasn't about money, it was about principle.... Thanks to Mr. McLeod's continued professionalism, support, and "thinking outside the box", I was able to win both a financial & moral victory... I've already referred him to one individual, and will continue to praise his good graces in the future!!!.... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!! :)

I highly recommend Nick Mcleod; I would request his services again.

I posted an inquiry online to his firm for assistance with a workmen's compensation problem. He responded to me the very next day and assured me I could win my case. I hired him immediately. When I met with him, he spent 1.5 hours with me, asking the right quetions and prepping me for the hearing.... He was very kind and knowledgeable. He met with me again before the hearing and calmed me down and was very diligent in making me focus and understand the proceedings. The hearing went exactly as he described. I know I could not have won without his help. I highly recommend him.

Outstanding Attorney

I had lost my faith in the legal system for some time due to past experiences with other attorneys. It is refreshing and I am so blessed to be working with Attorney McLeod. HIs knowledge with the employment laws is nothing short of outstanding. Most importantly his professionalism and integrity sho...uld be an example to others. Our community needs to be aware of outstanding attorneys because there are very few out there. The firm Attorney McLeod works for is Alan C. Olson & Associates. Every person associated with this law firm is excellent to work with. Attorney Alan C. Olson should be proud of himself and his law firm. I just want to say Thank You.
