After an unfortunate retail fraud incident, i got Mike Kelly on board. Mike wanted to know more about me and my background and once he heard everything, Mike laid out a very clear, practical, achievable, proactive plan for me. He also had a plan for himself. I worked on my plan and Mike worked on his.... Once i followed through on everything Mike asked me to do, he executed his plan. Mike worked with the Prosecutor and then laid the case in front of the judge in such an excellent way that my charges are going to be completely dropped after my reduced probation time. The time and conditions for probation were also negotiated to be very simple. Lastly the plan he put me through not only helped me get the best result in court but i have reached a point where i will never ever repeat my action. Mike is more of a lawyer and counselor. About half way through the process, I was told by an anonymous person that i shouldnt worry because i have the best lawyers possible in the entire state. Now I can attest to that statement that indeed...... Mike Kelly is the best lawyer in the state of Michigan !!!

I thought the day I got pulled over was like the end of the world for me, but it wasn’t. I had so much done before even going to court, that there was not much for the judge and probation officer to give me to do. We did, however, leave some things intentially. Not only were the charges reduced, but the terms of my probation were very reasonable. Doing so much proactively worked in my favor and is ultimately what I think led to the reasonable terms for probation. On March 2017, I was caught shoplifting at Macy's in Dearborn,Mi. I was terrified b/c this was my first time and I couldn't afford to have Retail Fraud/larceny on my record! Before My court date Mike thought like a judge and a prosecutor. He had me take a online theft course and go to these in person kleptomania classes. I'm not a kleptomaniac! But it was all apart of the game, to show the judge that I was taking steps in the right direction(b/c these are the things they would order you to do anyway). Long story short, Mike was able to convince the prosecutor to drop the larceny charges right away and charge me with a lesser crime "Breach of peace" and only 3months of probation. Here's the cherry on top. Once I complete the 3months probation(meeting once a month and 1 work program per month) the Breach of peace will be off my record completely!! Like it never happened! God is so good! I was extremely nervous and didn't know how my case was going to turn out. But Mike reassured me that" they can screw over everyone in that court room, but not my client!" and he made sure of that! Hire him, do what he suggests and leave it in Gods hands. I had no idea what to expect when I realized my son had committed retail fraud of the third degree. As we drew near to the pre-trial while also filling out scholarship and college applications, the weight of the seriousness of the consequences began to fall. Could this hinder him from being ac...cepted into the college of his choice and/or not get help to pay for it? Could it hinder him from getting a job while paying for a college class or two? In addition, we were still thinking that we wanted to get to the root of why he did this in the first place. He had good things coming right around the corner . Why would he jeopardize that? So after watching a youtube video put out by their firm, I contacted them. In the video , they pointed out that they wanted to affirm that good people made bad decisions sometimes and they also wanted to help get to the root of the problem. I felt we were of the same mind. Both of which were received because Mike helped our son go in prepared and had programs the judge would assign started or even completed. He also spent time with us in all the lines and waiting in the tasks that needed to be done after the trial and shared with us what more to expect and continued to encourage my son to be the man of honor he knows he can be. Having never gone through this before , my eyes were open to how one could feel one is being set up to fail in this system. But with Attorney Mike Kelly's counsel, representation and continued support after , my son is being set up to get through this and his future successfully. We are very grateful!
