My philosophy is that more hands helping others is better than more feet stepping on heads. I want to help people overcome their contacts with the courts and get their lives back on track. The hope is that those I help will pay it forward and use the experience as a turning point for good across their lives. 

Where do you need me? I travel, and have an exceptional record on the road. I go where I’m needed.  I always put my client’s interests above my own and will be there for you every step of the way.

My passion and interest in the law has always been geared towards Criminal Defense. While attending Michigan State University for my Bachelor's degree, I majored in Criminal Justice with a focus on Policing and Corrections. Rather than following the path of my classmates - I did not join the ranks of law enforcement - but instead continued my pursuit of understanding 'justice' by attending law school at the University of Detroit Mercy. It was there that I began cutting my teeth in the criminal courts as a student attorney and it affirmed my decision to dedicate my future to helping those who find themselves in the unfamiliar and life-altering trenches of the Criminal Justice System.

As a Defense Attorney, I saw a lot of things in and outside of court that made me very concerned. Most significant was the realization that the Criminal Justice System is not always "just." The lives that were crushed, the families that were destroyed, the bright futures that were stomped out by the system; it all inspired me to do MORE. Fight harder, don't be like everyone else; make a difference!

That is how I have been leaving my mark on the Criminal Justice System since my early days as an student attorney, to now, as a fierce powerhouse that goes above and beyond in the pursuit of true justice. The complacency and lack of fight I have seen from "more seasoned" defense attorneys continues to fuel my fire. I hold myself personally accountable for my client's lives, and with that always in mind, I do whatever it takes to get the right result. Even the dead-drunk-guilty deserve to have their lives matter. Keeping the individual at the forefront of the court's consideration is in an extremely important responsibility. Sure, the easy thing to do is treat them like everyone else; but the hard thing - the right thing - to do, is identify the uniqueness of each individual offender and make this their last unnecessary encounter with the criminal courts. 

Kelly & Kelly, P.C., is based in Northville, Michigan, but our motto as has always been to "go where you're needed." While I regularly practice in Wayne, Oakland, and Washtenaw County, I am often called upon to represent clients in many of the surrounding counties as an "outsider", not afraid to stir the pot to represent my client vigorously. Last year alone I represented clients in more than 30 different courts across the State of Michigan. I tell all of my clients that in order to have success in court, you need 1 of 3 things: the facts, the law, and if you don't have either of those, then you need PEOPLE - specifically, an advocate; someone who truly understands your circumstances and effectively advocates for you and your family. I am that person for you.
