Won my case when I though it could not be done.

Here is my story...I lost my driver's license in 2010 after a DUI conviction. I'm a builder who has to travel from worksite to worksite so needless to say, I had to chose between driving without a license or losing my income. Unfortunately, I did both. I got to DWLS charges and lost most of my work... because of my reluctance to drive, court appearances, probation and testing and more. My life turned to crap. I was ready to give up and never thought in a million years Michigan would grant me a license. I moved to Florida thinking I would start over but the Florida DMV found out about the Michigan revocation and took my license. I thought I was done. I found Loren Dickstein on the internet and called around to several other lawyers as well. Loren seemed to be extremely knowledgeable, confident and several other lawyers I called actually said how good he was. I hired Loren's firm thinking I was wasting my money because I couldn't win but I felt I had no choice but to try. Loren and his assistant, Katie, took a lot of time to get my evidence and letters so everything was perfect. He talked with my substance abuse evaluator to make sure she phrased everything they was the DLAD judge would want it. We went for an out of state review hearing and WON! I could not believe it. I though Loren did an amazing job but I never thought I would really win. I'm staying in Florida and I'm back to work and driving legally. Getting my life back! Thank you, thank you Loren. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a lawyer who can win when all the odds are against you.

Awesome!

I retained Loren Dickstein and his team to help my daughter, who suffers from a lifetime of mental illness, get through the justice system after being arrested and charged with assault against a police officer and domestic violence. Society needs to understand that mental health patients are not cr...iminals by nature. Loren knew that this felony could be the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as any kind of life moving forward for my daughter, who is 26 yrs. old. When the judge placed her in Caro State Psychiatric Hospital to regain competency to stand trial, he was instrumental in getting her released in just 3 months’ vs the 9 months that was originally ordered. He responded to my many questions, emails and phone calls promptly. He completely understood her fragile state of mind and tried to always be reassuring and kind when speaking with her and helping her to understand procedures in the court system. I will say the same for George Brown who assisted in her case. Very kind. And Katie has been just awesome and reassuring to speak to. The whole team treated us with respect and honesty. At a time like this, in a world we knew nothing about, frank, honest answers mean everything to us. I can’t say enough about the help they provided. They went above and beyond to make us feel safe, protected. Because of Loren and his team, the judge ordered a delayed sentence and the charges will be reduced to misdemeanors after her probation period. Prosecutors wanted her on probation for 11 months, with drug and alcohol testing, domestic violence classes, anger management classes, mental health treatment, no contact with me, her caretaker, get a job (she is on 100% disability), the list goes on. I credit Loren with getting it reduced to just 6 months, no drug and alcohol testing, no anger management, no domestic violence classes, full contact with me, not required to get a job and just continue with her weekly mental health treatment with her trusted psychiatrist! I have been told by several people, to include retired officers, that this rarely ever happens! Most judges go by the recommended PSI report. After my daughter met with her probation officer for the first time, she was so traumatized by the experience and comments made to her by this officer. The officer told her to be ready for a SWAT team to enter her home, at any time, to do a thorough search for drugs, alcohol, weapons, etc. and that there is no such thing as a 6-month expedited sentence. Loren contacted the officer to make sure this officer understood my daughter’s fragile state of mind and to treat her with kindness. And he did make it clear the Judge ordered expedited sentencing in this case. I would highly recommend Loren and his team for your legal defense. He is thorough, accurate and on top of the situation. He will take care of your needs and educate you along the way as well. He is the best at what he does and I can’t thank him enough. Thank you, Loren!

Really great work, outcome better than expected, resulting no criminal record!

I have no criminal record until this incident, but with the help of Mr. Dickstein and his team, I continue to have a clean criminal record. I am in my final year of pharmacy school so I could not risk going with anyone but the best. I had read great reviews about Mr. Dickstein and know from a past ex...perience of a relative that he is one of the best lawyers. He was able to get my charge of an OWI down to careless driving! I was not expecting such great outcomes. Either an impaired driving charge or reckless driving at best is what I was expecting, but thrilled that we were able to get careless driving with a non-reporting 12month probation period. Though the lawyer fees were on the high end, I do not regret my decision to hire Loren. With my career on the line, I could not take any chances. Loren is very intelligent, efficient, and to the point. He really knows what he is doing and I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a lawyer.

DV Defense in Royal Oak

I hired Loren as co-counsel for a criminal charge in Royal Oak. He was always one step ahead of the prosecutor and worked very hard. I was able to see him cross-examine one witness before the case was declared a mistrial and he was lethal in cross-examination. I would recommend Loren to anyone who ha...s a lot on the line and needs to win a case.

License Restoration
