Nicholas Klingensmith is a Cincinnati DUI and Criminal Defense Attorney. Before becoming a criminal defense attorney, Nicholas was a prosecutor for the City of Cincinnati. As a prosecutor Nicholas handled a large caseload and tried hundreds of cases, argued countless motions and negotiated pleas. He also argued numerous times on behalf of the State of Ohio and City of Cincinnati before the First District Court of Appeals.

Before Nicholas became a prosecutor he served as a Law Clerk and Constable for the Honorable Judge Melba D. Marsh. Prior to clerking for a Judge, Nicholas worked as a clerk for Katz Teller Brandt & Hild.

Nicholas attended law school at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law and graduated Cum Laude, finishing 12th in his class. Nicholas received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of Elder High School.

Very respected Lawyer and person
I was advised by a friend (another Lawyer) to contact Nick about my situation. Not only was Nick personable, he never made me feel uncomfortable about my situation. Even as bad as I felt about my poor decision. After our first meeting he made me feel at ease and explained every step of the process and how he would be handling the situation. Nick is well educated and up to date in the always changing OVI laws and was able to use a new law that even the Judge was not well versed in. (no disrespect to the Judge, just no one had used this new law/defense in his courtroom) After seeing Nick in the court house, not just the court room. You could see that he is a very well liked and respected Lawyer and person. Since he once was a prosecutor for Hamilton County he has many connections and friendships that have continued even after switching to private practice. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone in my situation because I feel you would get the best representation no matter what your situation may be.

Would definitely recommend!
I knew going in that I was facing an uphill battle. Mr. Klingensmith was upfront with me about all possible outcomes, likelihood of one outcome over another, etc. No sugar-coating, straight to the point. Very personable. He managed to get what could have been an absolute nightmare down to state minimum penalty for everything, without having to draw the case out or take it to trial. And I was basically broke going in to the whole ordeal. He allowed a payment plan with a minimal deposit, and still behaved as if I had paid for the whole thing upfront. Even postponing my payments when work got slow in the winter, encouraging me to pay off court fines/probation before resuming payments to him. Very professional and helpful. I can not thank him enough for everything.

Great Attorney
Nick is an excellent attorney that is cares about his clients. He always returns clients phone calls and will meet with his clients at any time. He was Abel to get the DUI charges reduced to werckless and 6 month suspension. If I ever need a lawyer again I will be sure to use Nick. I can't say enough good things about his character or law skills.

Excellent lawyer and person
Right off the bat, Nick was genuinely honest and very friendly with me, never passing judgement or making me uncomfortable or akward. He was very thorough, passionate and caring while working with me. Our visits were quick and to the point, and very much was accomplished in a very short amount of time. He got me the best case scenario possible in court, all while I was able to keep my job, my privileges for work, not miss any time do to court, meetings etc. I couldn't be happier with the services provided by Nick. He showed that he truly cared, and worked his tail off for me, and it paid dividends in the end. I received a OVI violation in Cincinnati like a moron while visiting from Pittsburgh. Nick was excellent in handling all needed processes and procedures on my behalf since I lived so far away, and was extremely informative of the law and said processes. His experience, overall personable personality, and knowledge of the Cincinnati court system also proved extremely valuable on my day in court as he quite easily negotiated an excellent deal to a lower charge for me, saving me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars and potential jail time. Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the area in a legal pinch. Nick really made the awful experience not quite so bad.

The Best Attorney for the job
I made the big mistake of getting an OVI, but Nick was there to help me through the worst of times. He's knowledgable and personable. He was with me every step of the way until my case was over and I had my license back. He was able to get my charge reduced to a Reckless Operation. Nick was also able to file a motion to terminate probation early. After meeting Nick for the first time, I realized he was the right lawyer for me, and if you ever make the mistake of getting an OVI, make sure to meet with Nick for a consult, and see if he's as right for you as he was for me.

Understanding & Gets the job done!!
From the start, Nicholas was very approachable and always available for my questions and concerns with my case. Nicholas helped to put my mind at ease and was able to move my court date up to get things done. I knew I was in the right on my case and explained to Nicholas my thoughts and expectations. Nicholas came through in every way. I just showed up on my court date and let him handle it. I was "easy like Sunday morning" on the court date!! I would definitely recommend Nicholas to anyone that needs a lawyer. He is very knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and helps to ease the anxiety with the court process.
