I would put no stars if possible. Michael was supposed to represent my son in his divorce. He talked a very good game when we hired him. And oh were we mislead. $5k for nothing. He did not fight for him at all! He would have been better off representing himself. So a little advice for everyone. Do no...t use this lawyer. Save your money and go somewhere else. Michael is very cocky with everyone except the opposing party. So if you already have this lawyer, I'm sorry! But if you’re thinking of getting him don’t do it!

I worked with Attorney Michael Burns on a first time DUI case. This is an attorney who did not at all put up a good fight in my case. There were defenses he could have chosen to use in my case and simply did not. I constantly had to keep tabs on updates because he and his team would never reach ou...t. There was a great deal they said they would do and it was never done - even to date. I found this firm by Googling DUI defense attorneys, worst decision ever. It seems they pay for advertisements but I recommend looking elsewhere for an attorney. Go with word of mouth and face-to-face consultation only. Also consider Attorney Richard Blevins for a DUI, he does much better work.

My boyfriend and I both got arrested and charged with the exact same thing. My lawyer is fighting for me and my rights. Micheal Burns Jr. did little to nothing for my boyfriend, who, at age 64 had never been arrested. A perfectly clean record in 64 years and he got sentenced 60 days in jail for a qua...rter bag of marijuana. No, I'm not leaving anything out. No, he didn't get physical with the police, or anything. 60 days, served 30 or a year probation. You'd be better off representing yourself and putting that money on your books if you're in Cherokee County. Oh wait.. he did do one thing. He asked the judge to let my boyfriend turn himself in after New Years, instead of making him go on Dec 19th. Put your money to better use.
