I hired her to work my case thru out the whole case she was trying to have me take a plea deal that would have me incarcerated instead of fighting & asking for a fine/probation then told me “I need to do my time then get out of Virginia for ever” she is a very rude & arrogant lady & if she doesn’t ha...ve her way she will under mine you in front of the Judge & move to try to get you arrested.

I recently received a speeding ticket on my way back from VA to NC. However, since I live in Raleigh, the inconvenience of driving to Brunswick/Emporia for a traffic violation on a Wednesday would be a hassle. As a result, I googled lawyers within that area. I found the Gee Law Firm, of which Vane...ssa is an associate. Surprisingly, of all of the letters I've received in the mail, she was not one of them. All in all, my experience with her was professional, courteous, and easy. Vanessa kept me up to date on everything, and she got my ticket reduced from an 80/70 to a non-moving infraction. My experience with Counselor Hicks was excellent from the first phone call to discuss the matter (reckless driving charge on I-95 Greensville Sheriff, potential 4 points and criminal misdemeanor). It was so obvious to me (and I work with business attorneys everyday for 30 years in my job) that Ms. H...icks was going to be that terrific combination of good listener, experienced, professional and gracious! Ms. Hicks was responsive whenever I called or emailed her. I mean immediately, even right after a long day in court. In that first call, she let me know exactly what I needed to provide her with (i.e. state driving record, and my version of what transpired). Once she had what she needed from me, she acknowledged it, and told me she would contact me before the court date (which was about 45 days from alleged infraction date). And right on time, a couple days before she let me know she was all set, and would provide the outcome after the hearing. Ms. Hicks informed me right away that same day of the hearing that the charge was reduced to a non-moving violation, no points. Just a total fine of $226. Ms. Hicks after initially hearing what my case was about in that first phone call, offered me a flat fixed cost for her time, efforts and guidance. It was very reasonable given she was having to appear in court on my behalf as I live about 3-4 hours away in another state. I had a really clean driving history and weather conditions were good, and I was alleged to be at 83 mph. In summary, I highly recommend Ms. Hicks, my experience was that she is honest, highly effective, and very reasonable. Thank you Ms. Hicks.

From start to finish regarding my case Ms. Hicks immediately made me feel comfortable regarding her expertise and her ability to assist me. She was very honest and never made any false promises; and provide me with every possible outcome. Ms. Hicks was also responsive in her communication with me; sh...e always responded to my telephone calls and emails in a timely manner. She was confident in her ability to obtain the best outcome in my case as a result of knowledge, extensive experience. I am truly grateful for Ms. Hick's professionalism and knowledge of the specific law as it related to my case. The firm should also be commended for their professional customer service immediate response regarding my inquiry. Finally, the retainer for services were a reasonable rate.

I obtained Ms. Hicks services 3 days prior to my court date for allegedly going 87 in a 70 zone in VA. Due to an emergency, I could not appear. She responded to my inquiry the same day. She was very knowledgeable and confident; and any worries I had she definitely assuaged. She answered all of my que...stions and gave me the possible outcomes so that I knew what to expect. In the end she was able to have my case dismissed entirely, and that is definitely well worth the fee.
