Ryan Rambudhan attended the John Jay College where he graduated with highest honors (summa cum laude). He later received a merit scholarship to attend the highly-competitive George Washington University Law School. Ryan then gained experience at a prosecutor’s office and assisted in the prosecution of many DWI and drug related offenses. Under the direction of a DWI trial judge, Ryan drafted legal opinions to assist in deciding motions that raised technical and constitutional challenges to DWI stops and arrests. Today, Ryan is a principal partner at S&R Law Firm where he focuses on DUI, traffic, and criminal defense. Because Ryan understands how police and prosecutors approach cases, he is able to build a strategic defense for his clients who face criminal charges. As an adjunct professor at the George Washington Law School, Ryan shares his expansive knowledge and experience by training first year students in legal writing and oral advocacy.

Excellent Legal Services!
I recently hired Ryan Rambudhan to represent me in a traffic case, driving with a suspended license, in Fairfax County Court, Fairfax, VA. When I initially spoke with Mr. Rambudhan a month before my court date, he was very personable, down to earth, and honest. During the course of our initial free p...

Misleading service, poor outcome, dissatisfied client.
I was charged with a .09 DWI first offense in Virginia back in August after being pulled over for not having my headlights on after leaving a local restaurant with some friends. Dash cam footage also showed me performing very well on the 5 sobriety tests the officer made me do. I consulted with Mr....
I’m sorry that you aren’t satisfied with the results of you DUI trial. Ben and I handle the bulk of our firm’s DUI cases. Ben has more experience than I do; he has been licensed longer than I have, he is the managing partner of the law firm, and has had tremendous success defending DUI cases in Arlington. Ben and I discussed case strategy for your case from the get-go all the way to the very end. When we represented you in General District Court, we advised you to take your case to trial as opposed to pleading guilty to a DUI. This is because we believed in your case and genuinely wanted to fight your DUI charge! Additionally, we were confident that if you were found guilty at trial, the judge would impose the same sentence extended to you via plea bargain – which is exactly what occurred. In good faith, we represented you in Circuit Court at no additional cost. Most firms (including ours) charge significantly more for appeals in Circuit Court, especially for a jury trial. However, Ben and I agreed that we should, as a matter of principle, represent you free of charge in Circuit Court because we wanted to fight your case to the very end. You were advised that if you proceed to trial in Circuit Court, a jury may impose a short period of incarceration. You made the informed decision to proceed with trial and not accept the plea offer since it would lead to you having a DUI on your record. Based on your decision, we continued to fight for you in Circuit Court. During seven months of representation, you did not make Ben or me aware that you wanted to have me exclusively work your case. Had you done so, I could have easily handled your trial in General District Court and in Circuit Court. I understand you expressed your satisfaction with Ben’s service in open court to the trial judge. You did not express any preference to have me exclusively handle your case until the trial was completely over. I wish you had expressed this while we were representing you. There have been instances in the past where clients have expressed their preference for one attorney over the other (i.e. a referral), and our firm has always made those accommodations. With the above being said, we genuinely care about our clients being satisfied with our service. We are sincerely disappointed that the trial and appellate court reached an unfavorable disposition. If you would like to further discuss this matter, I welcome you to contact our firm.
