Best way to go
Though the outcome wasn't as great as I wanted, it was better than I expected. Given the circumstances of my case Mr. Wilson was able to lower the penalties including the elevated BAC charge and keep me out of jail. Replied last July 23, 2020Any anonymous negative review should be viewed with suspicion and skepticism, as it may be from a client who had unreasonable expectations, from another lawyer in the field who is trying to hurt the reputation of a competitor, a disgruntled former employee or just someone who enjoys hurting others, much like people who spread computer viruses. Furthermore, anonymous negative reviews prevent a response from the business which addresses the specific situation. Every client is presumed to be innocent and has the right to have a trial during which the government will be forced to prove the client's guilt. I have always said you should never give up the right to have a trial unless you get something valuable in return for it. I prepare every case for trial, and the only reason there would not be a trial is that the client chose to give up the right to have a trial. Some clients decide to give up the right to have a trial if the Prosecuting Attorney offers to reduce a charge, dismiss additional charges or recommend a specific punishment in exchange for the client's guilty plea. It is the client, not the lawyer, who decides whether a case goes to trial. The reputation I have earned as a knowledgeable, highly skilled advocate, my numerous awards for excellence and my glowing reviews speak volumes about my diligence as a lawyer and the overall quality of representation my team and I provide.

Waste of MOney
I used Mr. Wilson for a reckless driving charge going 94/70 mph. Although he appeared to be a nice man, he was completely useless. I could have represented myself for much cheaper and would have probably gotten a better result. I am not sure if he is just lazy or incompetent. He did not apply himself...

Replied last December 20, 2017I was shocked to see this review for several reasons. First, I take great pride in my work and over 23 years I have built a successful practice by genuinely caring about my clients and always striving to provide top-notch representation. Second, my team and I work diligently on behalf of our clients and we regularly receive compliments, Thank You notes, glowing reviews and gifts from clients thanking us for our quality representation and excellent customer service. Lastly, as a smart and successful businessman, if a client has expressed or displayed any anxiety or concern about my representation, I would have addressed the matter immediately and done whatever it takes to alleviate the client's concerns and make the client happy. Neither the criminal charge set out in the review, nor the name attached to the review, sound familiar, so I reviewed my case database and determined I have only represented one client accused of driving 94 mph in a 70 mph zone this year, and that client was thrilled with the outcome of the case. In addition, I have absolutely no record of ever representing a client by the name listed, during 2017 or any other year. If the author of this review is in fact an actual former client who goes by a different name, and either was a client long ago or has incorrectly stated the details of the alleged offense, please contact me immediately so I can pull your file and we can discuss the basis for your dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, fictional negative reviews could be posted by unscrupulous lawyers who are trying to damage the credibility of other lawyers, or by disgruntled former employees, or by someone who simply enjoys hurting others, much like those who spread computer viruses for fun. Perhaps one of these explains this mysterious review, or maybe it is simply an innocent mistake regarding the identity of the lawyer, as there are a few lawyers with similar names practicing law in Virginia. And sometimes, clients who hire a lawyer mistakenly believe that guarantees the case will be dismissed, so they blame the lawyer if they end up being found guilty, despite having excellent representation. Unsubstantiated and anonymous negative reviews are one of the problems created by allowing anonymous reviews in the first place, and allowing reviews of businesses to be posted without the author having to prove he/she was actually a client/customer of the business.
