Mary Catherine Corrigan

I can not express enough how Attorney Mary C. Corrigan has saved my life from the pits of hell. She is heaven sent ready for action, ready for war in the court room. Attorney Corrigan is a person who not only loves her job and takes great pride in her work but a person who actually makes you feel alm...ost like family. She will listen to you when no one else will and give you her honest opinion even if you may not want to her the truth, she will not lie about it. I was facing 3 r*pe charges and the odds were all against me. On Dec 25, 2023 I was arrested and booked into Cuyahoga County jail for 3 r*ape charges due to a false lying accusation from a jealous, vindictive ex-girlfriend who also was the mother of my child. I was appointed counsel by the court (Ed Mullin) who did not do a single legal thing to help my case at all. Throughout all of my pre trials in the beginning of 2024 I was a sinking ship due to Ed Mullin being ineffective. I had all the evidence and messages showing my innocence but was told my evidence is REPUGNANT by attorney Ed Mullin and was told that I will not win the case and to take a plea deal which I ended up doing. On July 8, 2024 I was sentenced to 54 months in prison and was told I was to register for the rest of my life. I was at my lowest and felt that there was no more to life after this situation. I prayed and prayed as I started serving my sentence in different prisons. I had made a phone call home one day and my mother had advised me that she was hiring an Attorney Marry C. Corrigan to appeal my case to the 8th district court of appeals. Little did I know how Mrs. Corrigan was going to change everything and give me my life back. I started to have hope again but there was still a lot of work to do. Throughout my 10 month stay in prison Attorney Corrigan stayed in contact with me and my mother and was loading up on her artillery. When the day of oral arguments came for my appeal, she was locked in and focused and let it go. My mother who attended the oral arguments told me over the phone how extremely well Attorney Corrigan did. On April 24, 2024 I was talking on the phone with my mother who had told me that I had won my Apeal and my case had been reversed and remanded. I was on my way back home a few weeks after the great news. Attorney Corrigan saved me from a dark path I was stumbling in. As I returned home to my family on May 6, 2025. Attorney Corrigan was also hired again by me and my mother to continue the fight for my case. The judge on gave us 30 days to prepare for trial. He denied every motion we tried to file. I never seen an Attorney so willing and so motivated to fight for someone who she barely knows. That’s when I realized that Attorney Corrigan genuinely loves what she does. We talked over the phone going over the case. We met in person at her office going over the case. She made sure that by trial we were ready to go. All the odds were stacked against us. The judge gave us no leniency towards anything. The long week we had at trial was nerve wrecking but Attorney Mary Corrigan stayed by my side to the very end fighting for me and with me. The final day of trial June 20, 2023 the verdict was in by the jury. NOT GUILTY on all 3 charges. I can’t express enough the feelings that were going through my body at the time and the smile I saw on Mary’s face I just broke down and cried. Even still she comforted me. Attorney Corrigan represented my son at a time in his life where ALL odds were against him. My son was serving a 54 mos prison sentence for a reduce plea of sexual battery after being charged with 3 counts of rape. My son's PRIOR prior pitiful counsel (not Mary) scarily and repeatedly told him to "...take the plea" bc the PRIOR attorney was not prepared for trial and had done nothing for my son but collect his county, court-appointed counsel check. The clock was ticking and I needed to find a competent appellate attorney. I contacted the law offices of Ashely Jones, Esq., who referred me to Attorney Corrigan. I called Atty Corrigan. She answered the phone. She listened. She advised. I hired her. Atty Corrigan timely filed my son's Notice of Appeal. She wrote and timely filed his brief and rebuttal brief emphasizing the trial judge's abuse of discretion during my son's trial. She also emphasized my son's prior attorney's incompetence. I attended oral arguments and Atty Corrigan left no stone unturned. She zealously represented my son and said everything I was thinking and so much more. Atty Corrigan's legal analysis and acument is absolutely outstanding. She left her opponent, prosecutor Alicia Paolucci, looking like "a deer in headlights." Paolucci was no match for Attorney Corrigan at the appeallate court and especially not at trial. Atty Corrigan won my son's appeal, which resulted in my son's case being reversed and remanded for a NEW TRIAL. My God! Unbelievable! Within the week, my son, who had already served 10 months in prison, was headed back to Cleveland for his bond hearing and RELEASE. My son was back home and released from prison. The clock was reset. My son was now facing 3 rape charges again by his same lying a$z baby mama. My son was facing the same judge - now even more pissed off bc this case was returned to him by his superiors at the 8th District Court of Appeals. I again hired Atty Corrigan to handle my son's new trial. Her price was reasonable given what my son and she were up against. The odds were stacked against Atty Corrigan and my son like a one-sided, 90 degree drop, Egyptian pyramid. Honest to God I am not embellishing. Prosecutor Paolucci used the "Rape Shield Act" to block all of my son's witness testimony, photos, vidoes, and even his own testimony. Atty Corrigan met with my son and reviewed documents and prepped him for his testimony. Yes. My son gave up his 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Atty Corrigan proceeded through trial like an undetectable U.S. night stealth bomber. She is a person of small stature but packs explosive, nuclear impact to get needed results. She is brutally honest. Atty Corrigan knows how to appeal to the jurists and the jury. When you are in appeals court or at trial, those are the only ones who matter - all else is nothing. On 6/20/2025, because of Atty Corrigan, a jury found my son NOT GUILTY on all 3 rape charges!!!! We are forever thankful to Atty Corrigan for her diligence, tenacity, and blatent, direct honesty with us. Once again, prosecutors Paolucci & Daus were outlawyered by and no match for Attorney Mary Catherine Corrigan. She left them both looking like, "A Deer in Headlights!"
