DID NOT SHOW UP

If I could give 0 stars- I WOULD! Did NOT show up to court! Red flag #1 When Raimo was appointed to my child support case I spent the entire time leading up to my court date trying to reach her with no success. I tried everything. She DOES NOT respond or return emails, phone calls, millions of voi...cemails etc. Red flag #2 When I finally heard from her it was via a text message sent at midnight- which I find completely unprofessional. With my court date 4 days away, I was feeling desperate and helpless, so I responded immediately, but AGAIN got no response until 2 days before court. Red flag #3 When I finally spoke to her, I explained my case but she offered no sound advice or options for fighting the case. She seemed uninterested and claimed she was busy with “school.” This interaction left me feeling just as hopeless as before. Now at this point I should’ve known better and looked elsewhere for help, but she had dragged me and ignored me right up until the weekend before court so I had no time. Now here I am, waiting to see the judge, and she is nowhere to be found; Ignoring all my calls and texts. Long story short- SHE DID NOT EVEN SHOW UP TO COURT!! TWO DAYS LATER - she sends me a nonchalant text message saying- “Sorry I missed you. What happened in court?” She did not even have the decency to give me a call. Disgustingly unprofessional. I NEVER write reviews but this one was necessary!! This lady should have her license revoked! As a lawyer, clients put their trust in you and you are responsible for their well-being, freedom, representation in the legal system. She did the complete opposite. It was like I didn’t have a lawyer at all.

Poor Representation

Last year i hired Jennifer raimo for a reckless driving charge. She was respectful and assured me she would try her best on my case but she did the opposite. It was my 1st Reckless driving charge and as I've seen alot of times for a 1st offense it can be reduced but i understand thats not always the ...case. I payed her around $700 dollars she did nothing for me all she did was got me a plea deal for no contest and told me she couldn't do anything else to help me. In court she was out of it she look dazed and confused the whole time. She didnt speak to the judge once for me it was like i was in the court room with no lawyer. She didnt even explain to me what no contest meant. When the judge asked me do i agree to plead to no contest but i didnt know what that meant so i asked jennifer raimo to explain it and and i believe she had something else on her mind . The judge got angry and had me step out of courtroom to speak to my attorney and then come back. Long story short i feel as if i wasted my money and i was fooled by her low price. I know she is a smart lady but she should apply herself more i wish her the best.

Replied last June 06, 2018

I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed with my services. I wish we could have attempted to resolve this last year, but I was unaware of how you felt about your experience in court. One of the problems with public comments is it is difficult if not impossible for me to respond directly due to the ethics rules governing confidentiality. I cannot speak online about the details of any case or explain how I recall your experience during the plea. Sometimes a first offense charge can be reduced or dismissed, but not always. It depends on a variety of factors, such as how bad or not-so-bad the actual behavior was, how strong or weak the evidence is, the police officer’s opinion as to how the defendant treated the officer, the police officer’s wishes as to what should happen in court, the prosecutor’s understanding of these factors, the prosecutor’s mindset or approach to this type of fact pattern, and of course the judge’s view of the case presented in court. Each of these factors must be taken into consideration. The decision of whether to accept a plea offer or reject it is always made by the defendant. A defense attorney can only advise you as to the strengths and weaknesses of the case and my opinion as to whether the offer is a good option. Because the courtroom can be a scary place, people sometimes get too nervous to speak in court. Sometimes people have questions they forgot to ask or did not completely understand earlier, or forgot was already explained to them. When that happens in front of a judge, the judge will sometimes allow the attorney and defendant to speak with each other right there in the courtroom. A judge will also sometimes let the lawyer and her client go out into the hallway for a more private conversation without the pressure of being watched and waited for. I can understand why you would interpret that as anger or annoyance, but it was more likely a way of making sure you had the opportunity to have your questions answered so you could make a truly voluntary and intelligent decision regarding what option was best for you in that moment. I regret that I obviously was not able to meet your goals in this case. I wish I had known when we were in court how you were perceiving things. We probably could have waited a little longer before entering the courtroom to give you the additional time your post suggests you needed to speak with me. Because your post says the case was last year, I cannot do anything to change the court hearing’s outcome, but I would be happy to discuss it with you further in a private setting. If you would like a conversation with me, I will need to know your identity so I can look at my notes and see what I did.

Exonerated Prince William

I was in a rather difficult predicament. Someone close to me that resembled myself assumed my identity and got me convicted of a DWI. This was a complicated matter, so I had spoke with several attorneys, but after speaking with Ms.Raimo I was confident and felt she was the most knowledgeable. She was... methodical in her approach in tackling this. She knew all of the court regulations, statues, and codes etc. The judges, prosecutors, clerks and everyone involved with the case were all confused with how to proceed. They all deferred to her essentially. She was superb in contacting everyone and always communicating with me in a timely fashion. Many lawyers are poor in this regard. The fast speed and pace she worked at got my issue resolved in about a month after initially meeting her. She seems to be truly devoted and passionate about her work. Not only that she gave me an absolutely fair price for her consul. Many other attorneys wanted an arm and a leg for my case. I Thank God that I met Ms. Raimo and she was able to rectify this for me. Do yourself a favor and hand your case to Ms. Raimo.
