Don't hire

Charged me a fortune telling me my license would be reinstated immediately upon appeal. That information is totally incorrect in Pennsylvania. So he either lied to me or doesn't know Pennsylvania law. Told me just what I wanted to hear so I would hire him and collect my money. So he charged me full... price and only did half of the job. I'm only asking for half of my money back which is being more than fair. There's right and wrong and he knows he's wrong but still being ignorant about it. Now I have to contact the Pennsylvania bar association.

To begin with, you hired me to file an Appeal to the Superior court of Pennsylvania after you pled guilty to a DUI charge with a different attorney. I did that work 100% for you. Your license suspension would have been dismissed had we won on appeal. However, we were unsuccessful due to your plea. So, that was our strategy and you knew that. You were always fully informed of what was going on with your case and I even arranged your turn in date with Judge Eisenberg. The bottom line is I did the work that you paid me to do. Nothing is a guarantee and I am sorry we were not successful on your appeal.

Doesn't follow through

Hired him for my brothers case. He didnt bring up key points in the trial. My brother has been in prison for over 20 years now. He stuttered in court during deliberation and failed to even object. My brother is still getting railroaded by the legal system. Hes up for parole and all of a sudden his 20... to 40 turned into 25 to 50. The cop lied about his own dispatch and Dolfmans cross examination was less than adequate. He promised to visit my brother to discuss the case and never did. His whole approach is we can get them on the retrial where you have to pay again. Hes not to be trusted.

So this a review from 20 years ago by an anonymous person. I think this review in completely unfair, cowardly, and not true. There is no way I can respond to someone who was upset from something I may or may not have done from 20 years ago. If the case did not work out and your brother is serving additional time because of his failure to cooperate in prison that is not because of me. I work hard for everyone of my clients and try and get them the best outcome. I am sorry he got a bad sentence 20 years ago but I have no way to respond to someone who just posts a review for no reason or is simply mad.

An outstanding Lawyer for your criminal case!

I called Doug 2 weeks before our court date. My boyfriend had gotten arrested with a serious felony heroine charge, he was on probation and i was sure he would see some jail time. I found Mr. Doug under "top-rated criminal-defense attorneys in Philadelphia". I called Doug left a message at 1:30p Doug... called me back at 2:30p in a prompt professional fashion. Not only did i meet with him that same day, but i paid him and he assured me everything was going to be ok. Doug was firm with me my boyfriend wasnt going to jail even though he was on probation? Was all i kept saying to him. Today was our courtdate and our outcome...CASE DISMISSED! It was our first court date and i was a mess! Doug was late but he put in our docket sheet he would be appear so that somewhat settled my nerves. As soon as he walked in a sense of relief came over me and as if im not the last person in the row, sitting on the last seat of the bench I accidentally screamed,"DOUG!" Only to shhhhhhd by every cop sitting in front of me, Doug and probably the judge. Well we were in and out of the courtroom within 15 minutes and our case was completely dismissed. Thank you Mr. Doug! Money paid is money earned.

Very poor showmanship

I met with Doug to discuss a case I had several months ago. He insisted that my case was a strong one and we had to act fast! I did exactly what he said and hired him for $2500 cash. I never received a receipt and when I asked for one he said the email exchange between us was "good enough." I tried m...eeting with him several times to discuss any advances in the case to which he never showed up nor picked up my calls. After months of the run around I haven't received any information. I listened to everything he said and acted fast and at no point did I ever feel I was even a priority to him. Make sure you do more research before making the same mistake I did.

This client had a claim that at first looked promising but after investigation it was not the type of case that would have been successful. The underlying case was not fully investigated by the local police department and because of their reluctance to pursue the matter we did not move forward with the case. Communication on my end was complete but could have done a better job keeping up with the client on developments.

Don't hire this man

Absolutely a horrible lawyer. I think he should be disbarred. I may never get to see my loved one again because he didn't bother to prepare a proper defense. To get money he assured that we had a good case. Once paid he never met with anyone. Never interviewed anyone to build a case. There was 3 witn...esses that were not called. I am now getting sick and can not travel to see my loved one. That man took my money and allowed a man to get put in jail for putting himself in a bad situation, but not the one he was charged for. I won't even be able to say goodbye. I guess if he would have shot someone or was a drug dealer he would have gotten off. He shouldn't have paid this price for foolish. This man didn't care about his family at all

This review is completely fiction. In the 21 years I have been practicing, there has never been a case in which I have not interviewed a witness or be prepared to try a case. It seems that this reviewer is more upset about the result of this matter that a relative is incarcerated a distance away from her. I am not even familiar with who this person is who seems to criticize the result whatever it was without any specifics in relation to what the client may have or may not have done. If the result of the trial or hearing was unacceptable to the client or his or her family, they always have the right to appeal to a higher court. I do not know if this was done in this case. I am sorry if the reviewer did not get the result that was expected, but no promises are ever made in how a case is going to turn out.
