In court part for the $2500 it is another $5000 after the litigat...ion an dose not do the appeals after the phone conference don't no. If this is his line with every one but he did the ur in the 10percent that do have a case

Kevin, I represented you throughout the Division of Human Rights Investigation, which was a 6 month process. Unfortunately, your case did not result in a "Probable Cause" determination. These are tough cases to prevail in, and I always tell new clients that there is certainly no guarantee of victory. While it is true that I do not handle appeals, I was willing to represent you in Federal Court per the terms of my Fee Agreement for Federal Court matters. I am sorry that you feel this way and wish it had resulted in a win, but as I wrote above, I can't win them all.

Excellent experience

Needed an attorney for immediate matter on a holiday weekend. James is the only one who answered the phone. Handled everything over the phone and by email. No need to travel to an office. Extremely pleased with quick response time as well as being very accessible anytime I needed a quick question ans...wered. He even answered the phone while grocery shopping to answer a question. Amazing. Other attorneys I have felt with in the past are nowhere near as accessible to me or have such a quick response time. Very pleased to recommend James to anyone in need. Matter was handled quickly and effectively. Fees were very reasonable and his willingness to work with me on payment were much appreciated.

Disappointed

We hired James to represent our daughter in a sexual harassment case with her supervisor. The initial meeting required a large fee to begin. After paid, James did not return our daughter's calls in a prompt manner. The day of the hearing, James was in Canada, and our daughter had to text James thr...oughout the hearing as it was a "telephone hearing" with both parties involved. After a 4 hour hearing we were convinced the state investigator found probable cause, as so did James. Our daughter received a TEXT from James stating the outcome....the state DID NOT find probable cause, and James "was not available to speak to our daughter until 2 days later." James then proceeded to tell her that he would represent our daughter in federal court with a 5000.00 deposit! Until she made the decision not to go forward with James, he contacted her continually asking if she would like him to represent her. He also stated that he didn't want to tell our daughter he didn't have a lot of confidence in the state investigator that conducted the hearing.....this was after we received the results! Our daughter worked as an advocate for a victim's agency and this was the result!

Professional, affordable, honest, personable

James helped me in a settlement case with my former employer. He was honest and up front about the cost and what I should and shouldn't ask for. He was professional and settled my case within a week's time. He always responded in a timely fashion and was easy to work with. Thank you Jamie for al...l of your help and dedication to your clients! I highly recommend James if you're seeking legal advice in his area of expertise.

Wrong Choice

Had this attorney stand as a legal tool for me, only to learn he is unskilled and ill-prepared for serious cases. After this attorney charged thousands of dollars, I had learned that he was out-sourcing his official responsibilities and this was another factor in realizing I had made the Wrong Choice... in selecting him for service.

This review is not only anonymous, but wholly unfamiliar to me. Without any information as to the case or client this review relates to, it is impossible for me to respond or even authenticate. I take each and every client's case seriously. The rates I charge are affordable and reasonable as compared to similarly situated attorneys. I always try to leave clients better off after having retained me. The reality is that employment litigation is a difficult field of practice. Inevitably, some clients do not prevail despite the attorney's best efforts. As to "outsourcing", I do not "outsource" cases. Any case that I handle is handled only by me. If you are a former client that is dissatisfied with my representation, I encourage you to communicate with me directly so that we may have an open, and honest interaction. Suffice it to say, I care deeply about each and every client, yet, as good a record as I have, I will never be able to "win them all".

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
