As the founding partner of Kohan Law Group, PC, a boutique, civil litigation firm, Michael has significant experience litigating complex civil litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement. Moreover, Michael proudly volunteers his time as the inaugural member of the personal injury division at Legally Links, a non-profit organization for the needy, including indigent widows and widowers. He has also volunteered his time by speaking regularly at a legal housing clinic in Woodside, NY with a retired Judge of the NYC Civil Court. Since 2015, Michael has been a panelist on the Queens County Bar Association’s annual continuing legal education courses on landlord-tenant law and real estate litigation and he has also presented CLEs on similar topics for the Nassau County Bar Association and Queens County Women’s Bar Association, among other organizations. Among the attendees of these courses have been Judges, attorneys and real estate professionals. Michael is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Hofstra Law School where he has taught trial and litigation skills courses.

Professional, caring and honest law group

Excellent litigator
Michael conducted depositions for our firm’s client (plaintiff) against a defendant that was represented by a large law firm in a breach of contract case. He cleverly was able elicit the answers that eventually helped us prevail on Summary Judgment.

Quality Service, Great Communication GETS IT DONE!
I hired Michael's firm to help with a lease break that I had in NYC. The landlord demanded two years worth of rent despite not advertising my unit after I left, for over six months. I tried to negotiate with them and got stonewalled. Michael and Adam were referred to me and I'm so happy I retained them. They were very clear with exactly what they needed to get started, they did NOT oversell or underpromise what was possible, they clearly communicated the limits of what they could do based on the experience they had. And ultimately, they delivered an extremely favorable outcome to my situation. I can't emphasize their honesty enough - CLEAR communication about expectations from day one and none of the superfluous billing that other attorneys may have had, highly empathetic and incredibly knowledgeable . Caring and Responsive Lawyer
Michael is a great lawyer, who cares for his clients and gets the job done with their best interest at heart. He has helped me in multiple cases, everything from driving tickets to injury suits. Car accident case
Michael was able to secure consistent payments for lost wages and bodily injury recovery on my behalf during the course of my car accident case, which I absolutely needed to help make ends meet. He’s the kind of lawyer every lawyer should aspire to be.
When our dad died, we couldn’t just grieve his loss in peace. We had to deal with some urgent, complex property and estate matters in New York. I live in North Carolina, and never thought our family would find an attorney who could unravel the mess we faced, which was a task so unique not many attorneys could even handle it. But then we found Michael. He immediately understood the issues and went out of his way to help our family. That kind of empathy is rare. Not only that, he’s one heck of a litigator in court. Real Estate short Sale and Divorce

Trustworthy, wise, professional: the best lawyer you could think of
I have been doing business for well over 20 years now and worked with many professionals and specifically many many attorneys: litigation, contracts, deal closing: it seems everything we do nowadays requires a good lawyer. Knowledgeable and attentive
I've had Mr. Kohan advise me on a myriad of legal issues (mostly real estate-related) and helped my father handle a dispute involving his livery car insurance company. No matter how big or small, Mr. Kohan gave my matters his full attention. Very satisfied!

BEST Lawyer Ever!!
It's amazing - I could say exactly the same thing about Mr. Kohan as the previous review. Obviously I am not the only client of his that is tremendously grateful. He is extremely professional, his knowledge and answers are always thorough and the patience that he displays only belongs to a super human. He clearly does everything for his client - to defend, protect and guide. His clients are his number one priority. You are wasting your time if you look elsewhere. It's more than money well spent. He's soooo nice!!! I will miss working with him!!

An outstanding attorney- very hard to find!

Tried to take all my money
I went to his firm after I was in a car accident. they were ok but hard to talk to lawyer there and then I got a letter telling me to sign something so I pay more interest than I pay on my cc and send it back for them to keep representing me. I'm not sending it back so i guess they no longer rep me and i have a meeting with a new lawyer tomorrow.
