I handle the full range of Divorce & Family Court matters, including both uncontested & contested divorce, custody & visitation, adoptions, family offense, child support & paternity, juvenile delinquency and child abuse & neglect matters. I have over 15 years experience and my practice is mostly Family Law (as opposed to some other attorneys who only do Family Law less than 50% of the time). I began my career as a Family Court prosecutor, gaining valuable trial experience prosecuting child support and abuse & neglect cases. Moreover, I pride myself on giving my client's cases personalized attention. This means I offer night & weekend hours to better fit your schedule. I also don't pass your file off to a inexperienced Associate the minute you leave the door. I am the only attorney in the office & thus the only attorney who will work on your case.

Family law done right!

David did a fantastic job representing me in my difficult divorce. He was always available and well-knowledgeable on NY laws. When my ex demanded to push for a trial, he was ready and prepared. It was very nerve-wracking and I'm so glad that he represented me. Now over a year later, my divorce is done. I don't know how I would have managed without him.

Excellent service

I hired Mr David Bliven to represent me in my divorce case. In all my dealings with him, he acted in a very professional and personable manner. He was also very good at explaining any terms or provisions stated in any documents I was not clear about. Absolutely Amazing!

Honestly, David was instrumental in closing an extremely painful chapter in my life. He provided guidance and kept me informed. He and his team handled matters in a professional, timely manner. Divorce is not an easy thing to go through and honestly, I feel like I got the best attorney I could have ever had remove the fear and the headache of navigating this experience. Custody

Mr. Bliven, is an excellent attorney. He recently helped me resolve a custody case. I was so nervous and anxious because I had never dealt with anything regarding court. I went to a few consultations with other lawyers. But David won me over when he started a conversation with my child. He isn’t like most lawyers that are stiff and don’t care. He answered all of my questions, responded to all my emails and kept me up to date each step of the way. I knew about every conversation or interaction that involved my case. David is very detailed and tells you straight forward. During court he definitely speaks up for his clients and knows exactly what he is talking about regarding the law. With him on my side I knew everything would work out and it did.

Made it Easy

Highly recommend!

We decided to seek out an attorney after 2 years of going nowhere through the court system unrepresented. We were trying to gain visitation rights for my mother-in-law with her grandaughter who was placed with her other grandmother by ACS after being removed from her parents' care. We were never notified of court dates and there were constant reschedules due to someone not being present. After COVID hit, it was even harder to navigate the whole process. After hiring Mr. Bliven, he got to work coordinating and communicating with the 5 other lawyers involved. He kept us informed every step of the way which helped us feel confident that the case was moving forward and someone was looking out for our best interests. He helped us navigate the COVID court world of links to court dates and dealing with technology issues that arose during hearings. He listened to all of our concerns, explained our rights thoroughly, and helped mediate a visitation order that included all of our wishes and that all parties were satisfied with. Highly recommend his services and we are thrilled to have legal rights for visitation!

From the first appointment until the end, Mr. Bliven provided not only sound advice, but kept me informed through the entire process. He always provided options in resolution, clarity on the legal process, and gave suggestions in those moments where I found myself overwhelmed. In addition, he was willing to work with me in payment options when my financial circumstances changed. It's never a good idea to traverse divorce alone and uninformed.
