Thank you, Ingrid for your help with my divorce and for the custody of my children. I was terrified that I would loose everything and that I would be destitute. Never again do I want to go through an experience like that again. But I never would have been able to survive it without Ingrid to lean on for legal and moral support. My lawyer, Ingrid Gherman, helped me win custody of my daughters when I had lost all hope! When I hired her, my ex-husband and his lawyer argued that I was mentally unstable, and a bad mother to my daughters. They insisted I should only see my kids under supervision. Ingrid took the time to listen to me and to understand my situation. When we went to court, she was very well prepared and she finally convinced the judge that my ex-husband was not truthful and didn't care about our daughters' well-being, only cared about himself. After many years of divorcing my crazy ex husband, my divorce is finally granted! Ingrid has been my attorney throughout the entire process. Almost a year ago, I thought my life was falling apart. Then I found Ingrid Gherman. Previously I had four other attorneys working on my divorce case. All of them fell seriously short of providing me with the help I needed. Either they didn't seem to know what they were doing or long periods of time would elapse before I heard anything from them concerning my case. Ms. Gherman knows the law and she really seems to care about it and about the particulars of my case, which was a very complicated one including an appeal and many motions. It seemed to go back and forth forever. But Ingrid was there with me every step of the way. She took to time to explain details and strategies and asked for my input and feedback. This was a new experience for me because my experience with other divorce lawyers was not good at all. They showed indifference, and spoke down to me rather than explaining things in a manner that I could comprehend. I am intimidated by the legal system on top of being totally stressed over my break up with my husband and battle over custody of my two children which broke my heart. Anyone who has not been through this type of personal dislocation cannot understand the terror I was experiencing because my life was coming apart. I thought I would never be able to recover.... or to win my case. But that is exactly what happened. And Ingrid was the one who helped my do it. Did I say that she is also a very caring and compassionate person. I didn't think lawyers could be like that. This made me wonder if she really had the stuff to put up a real fight against my husband and his legal representative. I found out in court, however, that she is one tough cookie. She met every tactic and maneuver from the other side with even stronger and more convincing legal challenges. It was a revelation just how effectively Ingrid fought on my behalf. I recently came to this lawyer with an emergency as my spouse was completely unreasonable. Her office made an emergency request of the Judge and we won! I was very pleased. I've come to learn that Ms. Gherman is actually the co-author of some very famous book which apparently all the divorce lawyers use as their guide. This is a really terrific attorney. As a client recently amicably settled a divorce, I want to give rave reviews to Ms. Gherman. Through out the process of my divorce which included custody issues for our two young children, Ms. Gherman stood by me, kept me informed, and showed me that she really knew her stuff. I was impressed from the first consultation that I had with her in her office. She spent what I thought was time over and above to explain my options and presented a clear road to settling with my wife so that it would be a seamless and calm process for our children. I am happy, my ex-wife is happy and must important our children are adjusting beautifully to the new situation. I will say that even though this was an amicable separation and divorce, there were some sticky moments and Ms. Gherman was unflappable in her determination to get me a fair settlment. My life was in shambles. I needed help with my divorce and had gone to 2 other divorce lawyers before I found Ingrid. She helped me get the resources I needed and keep my apartment. I would recommend Ingrid to anyone looking for a divorce lawyer who will fight for you.

I hired Ingrid for a contested divorce in 2006. The divorce was allowed to prolong until resolution in 2012, though not mainly her fault. However, her grasp of English and legalese is lacking. My stipulations were full of loop holes and poor wording. For the next 5 years my ex exploits and transgresses those flaws. I have engaged Ingrid 4 times in those 5 years, to which she abruptly disengages by not returning emails nor phone calls until months later informing me of a death in the family. Totallly unprofessional. Worse yet, my case went nowhere, and I am stressed with the ex AND looking for my hired attorney. I fired her 8/2016 after 1 month of attempting to contact her regarding the custody of my child after she acknowledges she will represent me. I asked for my retainer back. Not sure if it was an accident but 3/2017 Grace her assistant picks up, surprised it was me. But the ever unprofessional Ingrid fails to respond, to my continued requests. End of June 2017, I receive part of my retainer and a bill for work she alleged to had performed during the time that I was attempting to contact her regarding my case and documents that she LOST. I have now been attempting to contact her to dispute the bill but again am unable to reach her via phone, voicemail, nor email. My last communication with Ingrid was in 6/2016. In short she will stress you out. waste your time, lose you money, lose your documents, create bad legal documents and disappear on you without notice, ignoring you even though she promised to represent you and takes your money. I am now filing for arbitration as Ingrid has yet to respond, in addition to filing formal complaints so that no one has to deal with this frustration, not when your children and life are involved.

Ms. Gherman seems like a good attorney during the consultation (perhaps because she wants that $350 non-refundable consultation fee), but as you go through your divorce matter with her, you realize that she doesn't give it the 100% attention it needs and deserve. I agree with the posters that says she is never in the office and her office is extremely unorganized. If you want quality, efficiency and professionalism, this is definitely not the firm for you. She has an answering service, I don't know why, because she never responds to you. I can't believe I wasted over $7k for garbage work.

If you are looking for an attorney that works normal business hours, this is not the right attorney for you! I used Ingrid for a divorce case and she is always postponing without checking with me first. Claims to be in court all day, but I was told by reception she doesn't come in until after 5 pm. Wish she would have told me that during the consultation instead of misleading me. Sent her documents and she keeps requesting the same documents again and again. Very sloppy and unorganized!!!!
