The worst lawyer office ever! On April 1, 2016 I called in regards to a ticket issued to me after I had an accident involving a pedestrian. I was transferred over to a person who sounded illiterate and with ghetto accent and vocabulary. After trying to explain that I have proof, witnesses, and a vid...eo...This uneducated and rude lady told me that the pedestrian always has the right of way. I was about to explain that the person just ran in front of me and I couldn't stop in time, she then cut me off from speaking and told me in her exact words that a person was killed and that I should worry about other things that might come about. She then yelled at me that it's just a ticket and I should deal with it and pay and shut up about it. She then hung up the phone on me. I called back the office and then another lady answered the phone and told me that they are not interested in representing me. How dare they? First of all, they were very rude and unbiased. These type of lawyers should be dis-barred for ethics. She did not want to even hear my story first in it's entirely before coming to a decision. Second of all, most lawyers will advise you on plea-bargaining because of the risk of losing a case. However, most lawyers will represent you in court win or loose. At least hear me out and take my money. I prefer to fight my innocence in court and loose a trail with dignity rather than plea-bargain to being guilty in which I'm not. I am so shocked at the treatment from the Offices of Micheal Block. I have used them before and now there's absolutely no way that I will ever solicit their service and recommend them to anyone else! Little do they know that I have been driving trucks professionally in New York City for the last 25 years. Every other year, I use a traffic lawyer and so many friends and co-workers that drive and always ask me for a good lawyer. In the last 5 years I've had over 30 persons asking me for a traffic lawyer. From now on, I will recommend then to other lawyers!! 5 minutes later, I found a professional office that heard my story and is willing to defend me in court no matter what. These are real caring professionals and not rude and sarcastic unprofessional like the staff at Micheal Block.

I was driving and all of the sudden I see an in an unmarked car coming from the other side of the street. At the time I was smoking my e ciggarete, but the officer thought otherwise. At the end I get the ticket back from the officer and had seen numerous mistakes such as wrong last name on ticket, wr...ong date of experaton for my registration as well as wrong color for my car. I thought that there would be a great chance to beat this ticket due to my innocence. So I hired Michael Block as my attormey, even before the ticket had went into the system. The odd thing was that till this day I had not spoken to him once, which seems like an issue for some, except the TLC drivers which apparently look like they are favored. The main problem is that after seeing at least 20 reviews of people getting their cell phone tickets dismissed and apparently one guy had two of them dismissed. I feel like Michael Block did not put in as much effort into this situation as he could. When I got the results back they had told me that the judge favored the officers story, but isn't the whole point of getting a lawyer to distort the image of the officer in the mind of the judge, and make my side of the story more convincing. All that was done was the postponement of a year. the end of the day even though I did not win the case, and had lost 300 dollars , the least that Michael Block could have done was to personally call me and explain why they couldn't get the ticket dismissed. In conclusion if you either directly know Michael Block or are a friend of a friend, you will probably have a higher chance of dismissal if the circumstances allow.

Like a previous review, I had a similar poor experience for a moving violation. They delayed my hearing once and then i was informed I was found guilty. I could have done the exact same thing by simply completing the online DMV forms. I never spoke to a lawyer, just associates that took my inform...ation and a written affidavit. They didn't bother to speak to me about details to argue the case. It is true I was never promised positive results but this operation feels very much like a paper processing factory then real legal representation arguing for my case.

I am not sure what Michael Block they were referring to in their reviews, but the Law Offices of Michael Block located at 277 Broadway in NYC are the worst. I retained Michael Block based on the impression that I would receive adequate representation in court. I should have known something was amis...s when I was never asked what the details of the case were. More time was spent on processing my credit card payment. After I reluctantly made the payment the staff person did say she wanted me to be comfortable in selecting Michael Block, and for that I am grateful. However, it was what came next that should have stopped me from moving further. She said the court is very political (whatever that is supposed to mean) and she went on to say that if if the lawyer does not anticipate a positive outcome they will request a postponement and start all over. Much to my surprise that never happened. I was told I did not need to appear but I really should have. I was found guilty and of course no postponement occurred. I am sure that Michael Block (who I have never spoken to) will say that they did everything they could, but how could any lawyer move forward on a case without asking for or knowing the details. Maybe its political. Anyway, I would not now or ever recommend the Law offices of Michael Block. This was not a good experience and it was not based on me being found guilty that I am expressing my disappointment. It is more about the lack of attention to detail, the lack of consideration and the lack of professionalism. So if any of those items are important to you RUN!!! and find another lawyer.
