Thank you for checking out my profile.
My partner and I offer clients personalized care. I have practiced law for almost nineteen years and he, attorney Glen Johnson, has practiced for forty years. We are intentionally a very small firm with a limited number of cases. This allows us to offer a higher level of care because our goal is not to assemble the greatest number of cases. Our goal is to offer the best personalized care.
Divorce is hard - I have divorced both after approximately 28 years of marriage and after approximately 1 year of marriage. Both are difficult. Divorce is a difficult - but offers a great opportunity for better tomorrows.
I enjoy studying psychology because it is so integral to the practice of family law. My interests range from how positive psychology and personal resilience skills can improve one's quality of life during the divorce process to how litigants with personality disorder behavioral traits impact family law litigation. My favorite book on divorce and personality disorders is "Splitting" by Bill Eddy, LCSW, JD and Randi Kreger. Personality disorders, especially Narcissistic Personality Disorder, complicate the divorce process and understanding each disorder makes predicting an opposing party's behavior a little easier. Additionally, mental health disorders and substance abuse issues are common components in many divorces. Understanding these issues helps me offer my clients better counsel.
SAVING MARRIAGES
Not all potential clients are "done" in their marriage. Instead, many believe that filing a divorce action can be akin to firing a warning shot. We offer clients counsel, book lists, advice and moral support when they wish to work toward saving their marriage. The success stories are amazing. Favorite books include "Love Languages" by Gary Chapman and anything written by Dr. John M. Gottman at the University of Washington (my alma mater).
SAVING YOURSELF
Most everyone benefits from mental health counseling - especially during a divorce. There are amazing books available about living better lives during difficult times. My favorite authors include Brene' Brown, Greg McKeown, Gary John Bishop and Mark Manson. Take a look at the offerings at .
ABOUT ME
My favorite thing about practicing law is sitting in the office, across from my client, listening to his or her story and working together to create a game plan to achieve his or her goal.
I met my partner, both in law and in life, Glen Johnson, in 2016 in Cherokee County Superior Court. In late 2020, our dearest friend, attorney Daran Burns, married us. In September 2021, we opened our doors as Johnson Hoskins Law, LLC. Together we offer over sixty years of experience to help you. While one attorney is your primary care attorney, we believe in a team approach to explore all options. As a couple we enjoy travel, our three dogs (Holder, Callie & Mo) and Atlanta Braves games.Â
Thank you for reading my profile! I would love the opportunity to discuss your legal issues with you and help you find a solution to your problems.
