For all types of cases, including violent crimes, sex offenses, drugs, white collar/financial crimes, and impaired driving, he is responsible for crafting unique defense strategies for his office’s clients in and out of the courtroom. In the community, Derek is an elected board member of the New York State Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers (NYSACDL), an organization that is responsible for supporting the efforts of criminal defense attorneys throughout the entire state. He also serves as a member of NYSACDL’s Legislative Committee by reviewing proposed criminal procedure and penal laws in the New York Senate and Assembly and then advocating for or against the passage of those laws. I highly recommend and trust Derek with any case

I couldn't of asked for a better lawyer / Law Firm. From the first conversation on the phone Derek Andrews put my mind at ease and explained everything in a way I could actually understand. I moved out of state so it made the case that much more difficult. He was thorough and took his time making sure things weren't rushed but done right. The judge told me she wanted me to know how hard Derek fought for me which not only felt pretty good but shows what kind of a guy he is. If I didn't have someone in my corner that was willing to fight that hard, I would be looking at jail time. Thanks again for everything Derek.

He Knows Your Rights

Derek and his team are great, I just want to share my experience. I was faced with two felonies and was uncertain on what to do and a friend recommended him. We then met and talked and he assured me to let him take the stress away. Not to get into too many details he recommended the best path for me, and trust me the best path takes time and in the long run he was able to get the charges dismissed. I am really happy with his knowledge of the laws and how to apply them to work for his client. One thing for sure if I was ever in another pickle he would be the first one I would call.

Excellent lawyer

My experience with Derek is 100% positive. My fiancé and I had complications with our wedding plans due to Covid and were forced to either have the wedding (which we didn't want to with restrictions/new variants) or pay the full amount to cancel. No compromise or middle ground. We acquired the help of Derek to get us a positive outcome. Derek was very knowledgeable and extremely sympathetic to our issue. He got right to work, outlined his strategy and he updated us consistently. We were able to cancel our contract without having to pay any additional money thanks to Derek's work. Derek came through for us and we would certainly recommend him.

Amazing lawyer

I had a few violations including tints - unregistered vehicle - temp plates not being real - much more Derek was able to get me a great deal if I stayed out of trouble for 6 months . Also he's very easy to work with and really keeps you up to date with your case I high recommend him

Top Notch!!!!!!

I was charged with my first DUI and DWAI. I was worried and lost on what to do, I had no experience with criminal charges. I knew if I didn’t want to be a convicted criminal. I had to find a lawyer that had some experience. So I called the DWI Guys/ Nave Law Firm. I spoke with an advocate. A former police officer, (little hesitant to talk to) But, he was awesome. Next day, I received a call from Mr. Derek Andrews. Derek is organized, answered all my crazy questions, talked to me like a human being, not all attorney jargon. Kept me up to date, followed up, Derek and his team are skilled, thorough, and know how the system operates. I was never once left out of anything. In the end, both the DUI and the DWAI were dropped, I was elated, relieved, and learned so much. I would definitely call him, I without a doubt, I recommend him. Compassionate, understanding and determined!

My case was high risk of me going to jail because of a DWI with my son in the car. Because of his determination, expertise, thorough knowledge of the court system and constant support; I was able to keep my license, not loose out on visitation with my children and was given minimal fines. I am also hiring him to represent me in my family court matters to get my children back to their original school system and 50/50 custody! He is an exceptional lawyer and will be of great benefit to any client he represents!

Derek is amazing!

I can not even express how grateful I am to this man. I was facing a very serious charge. I had received two DWIs within the 10 year period. I was originally facing 1-3 years in prison. My first attorney told me to take the deal. He managed to get me drug court and felony probation. I would be pleading to a felony. I called up these guys and within a month they had taken the case and achieved more than my first attorney. What’s more is the gentleman handling my case advocated for me. They did everything within their power to achieve the best result for me. They went above and beyond what any previous attorneys I have had would have done. I not only did not have to plead to the original felony conviction, but they actually got it reduced to a DWAI, which is a violation not a crime, and I didn’t even have to go to trial. If you are dealing with a DWI case don’t even consider using another law firm. This is the one you want to use. You will not be disappointed. I would add that they were very professional and timely. I was never in the dark about my situation. At every moment they had represented me I was informed and I felt heard. I have only good things to say about Derek. He even seemed to have a good rapport with the judge. 6 stars out of 5!

Absolute Knowledge of Law - Respectful, Dedicated Service

The talented Derek Andrews and his extraordinary office manager Jessica Dunn worked with me in appropriately addressing and resolving the DWI charges I faced in April 2020. Foremost in my mind regarding Derek and Jessica's work with me in resolving my case, was their complete professional respect and duty to the law as it pertained to me, hand-in-hand with their compassion for me as a human being. As I was in the midst of a divorce when I was charged with DWI, Derek and Jessica literally shouldered the burden of preparing me to face my charges. Their attentive service allowed me to remain focused on my busy professional life, and more importantly, to continue being a dedicated Dad for my teenage daughter... which became even more important for me while in the throes of divorce. Finally, as I referenced above, the resolution of my case is not only satisfactory and very helpful to me and my life... it is appropriate per the law, and demonstrates Derek's complete professional understanding of the law, and duty to the law. Communicative and Effective

I received a ticket for registration issue, and Mr. Andrews told me not to worry about it and that he would have this taken care of. I was able to push the matter to the back of my mind, and the fine was negotiated down without any need for court appearance. Great communication, would absolutely recommend!
