Ingrid Gherman

So lucky to have found Ingrid. She diligently worked on my behalf, and settled my case to both my liking and benefit. She communicated with me on a regular basis, and in terms I understood. I was an emotional mess when I finally found Ms. Gherman. Two previous attorneys did nothing with my case. The first thing Ingrid did was listen— really listen. That, by itself, calmed me down. Throughout the legal proceedings, she kept me informed & updated. There were only 2 or 3 times when I manag...ed to call her before she called me. I nicknamed her “my pit bull because she is so tenacious. Oh, she got me an excellent settlement.

I hired Ingrid for a contested divorce in 2006. The divorce was allowed to prolong until resolution in 2012, though not mainly her fault. However, her grasp of English and legalese is lacking. My stipulations were full of loop holes and poor wording. For the next 5 years my ex exploits and transgress...es those flaws. I have engaged Ingrid 4 times in those 5 years, to which she abruptly disengages by not returning emails nor phone calls until months later informing me of a death in the family. Totallly unprofessional. Worse yet, my case went nowhere, and I am stressed with the ex AND looking for my hired attorney. I fired her 8/2016 after 1 month of attempting to contact her regarding the custody of my child after she acknowledges she will represent me. I asked for my retainer back. Not sure if it was an accident but 3/2017 Grace her assistant picks up, surprised it was me. But the ever unprofessional Ingrid fails to respond, to my continued requests. End of June 2017, I receive part of my retainer and a bill for work she alleged to had performed during the time that I was attempting to contact her regarding my case and documents that she LOST. I have now been attempting to contact her to dispute the bill but again am unable to reach her via phone, voicemail, nor email. My last communication with Ingrid was in 6/2016. In short she will stress you out. waste your time, lose you money, lose your documents, create bad legal documents and disappear on you without notice, ignoring you even though she promised to represent you and takes your money. I am now filing for arbitration as Ingrid has yet to respond, in addition to filing formal complaints so that no one has to deal with this frustration, not when your children and life are involved.

I cannot say enough about Ingrid Gherman and what she did for me. Always there, always in touch, never let me down. I lost track of the motions and papers she wrote and filed and now, two trials and one appeal later, I won! Through it all, Ingrid and her office always kept me in the loop and kept m...y spirits up. Almost a year ago, I thought my life was falling apart. Then I found Ingrid Gherman. Previously I had four other attorneys working on my divorce case. All of them fell seriously short of providing me with the help I needed. Either they didn't seem to know what they were doing or long periods of ti...me would elapse before I heard anything from them concerning my case. This was a new experience for me because my experience with other divorce lawyers was not good at all. They showed indifference, and spoke down to me rather than explaining things in a manner that I could comprehend. I am intimidated by the legal system on top of being totally stressed over my break up with my husband and battle over custody of my two children which broke my heart. Anyone who has not been through this type of personal dislocation cannot understand the terror I was experiencing because my life was coming apart. I thought I would never be able to recover.... or to win my case. But that is exactly what happened. And Ingrid was the one who helped my do it. Did I say that she is also a very caring and compassionate person. I didn't think lawyers could be like that. This made me wonder if she really had the stuff to put up a real fight against my husband and his legal representative. I found out in court, however, that she is one tough cookie. She met every tactic and maneuver from the other side with even stronger and more convincing legal challenges. It was a revelation just how effectively Ingrid fought on my behalf. Each time she needed to move forward, she always consulted me and kept in constant touch. Getting Ingrid to represent me was the best thing I ever did.
