By contrast, my accuser thought they had nothing to lose and would face no consequences for following through on a fabricated claim. If you’re looking for a lawyer who thinks outside the box and moves quickly in representing their clients’, PLEASE READ ON. _______ TUESDAY NIGHT (first call with David): David took my case on very short notice. He made himself available to me late on a Tuesday night, and I was due to appear in court on Thursday at 9AM (1.5 days later). I explained to him what had happened, shared the evidence I had, and he immediately began preparing. THURSDAY (day of the hearing): 9AM: The court was running behind schedule, so we started late. Shortly after it began, the hearing was interrupted by opposing counsel. They said they couldn’t complete the hearing at that time because our delayed start caused an unplanned schedule conflict for them. The judge ended the session and gave us a time to re-appear- 12PM. 12PM: All parties re-appear in court, and opposing counsel begins by stating that his client (my accuser) would like to WITHDRAW their claims. After some legal formalities, my accuser officially withdrew, and the matter was COMPLETELY RESOLVED. All in a single day… No more time, stress, or money required. I was ecstatic, but also puzzled. So I called David to celebrate, thank him, and get his opinion on what had happened. _______ DAVID’S QUICK THINKING Going into the 9AM session, David and I weren’t aware that my accuser would be represented by a lawyer. When we learned that, David sprung into action. Between our 9AM and 12PM court sessions, David miraculously got in direct contact with opposing counsel, which was something I was not aware of when we re-appeared. In that conversation, David presented the case facts and evidence to opposing counsel and inquired about the other side of the story. As expected, my accuser’s had no evidence to support their claims. Opposing counsel then proposed to David that we settle the case. David correctly responded on my behalf, “absolutely not.” In the end, I presume that, thanks to David’s conversation, opposing counsel explained to my accuser that bringing a false claims to court has serious consequences, and it’s not something the justice system takes lightly. With that, my accuser agreed to withdraw and make a sworn statement that they were doing so of their own accord. CASE CLOSED! _______ CONCLUSION Without David’s representation and quick action, I have no doubt that this matter would have ended badly for me.
