Anthony J. Vecchio

My family and I have used Anthony now on several municipal occasions and I can confidently say that we would never look to any other attorney in New Jersey. He is patient, forthright and in each engagement has secured the optimal and most positive outcomes I could have hoped for. This is not a one t...ime, one off experience for my children or myself, and I share this so others do not waste time elsewhere. Realistic review here, got a DUI in New Brunswick generated off a non functioning tail light and blew twice the limit, first time offense. There were inconsistencies in the police report and some other issues that seemed to help my case which were made to sound like they could aid in the battle. Anth...ony definitely knows his way around the court system and is very prompt and friendly. Ended up getting my suspension downgraded and five of the other citations dismissed. Pretty much a win considering the alternative outcome. The negative of the story pertains to the objectiveness in his communication. He seemed to moreso fly through the proceedings without ever actually giving me a realistic overview of where I stood and what the likely outcome would be and how soon it would arrive. Within two court visits (60 days) my case went from “we are collecting evidence and this is what we can use to get the prosecutor to drop the breathalyzer reading” to “this is the best deal your going to get and there is nothing we can do further, none of the evidence we gathered will hold up in trial, the prosecutor is basically doing me a favor”. Not being the expert, if that was the case then so be it, but what attorney doesn’t even warn their client that their next court date (2nd total) will probably be the last one and they should be prepared to have their license suspended? He literally asked me how i got to court and said i should be okay driving if I go straight home. The lasting feeling was that he had a desirable outcome in mind in which he considered it “a win” and worked toward that without any other possibilities. Then when the outcome is presented to you that this is the end of the line, either accept and take the lesser sentence or gamble in trial, you don’t even have time to think because your already in court without having had time to prepare and he assures you that the other outcome will only lead to your demise. Kinda blindsided, would have been nice to have that talk before i went to court, could have taken a cab too and not risk driving home without a license. If you do decide to go with him, be upfront and clear on everything, and if you can, don’t let him talk to the prosecutor alone, I cannot say what happened in there.

I had been arrested. Sh*!. What to do? I called his offices. He jumped into action. His involvement with his peers, relationships with the legal community and knowledge made our wait and see approach to my defense the correct one. No matter how antsy I became, he stayed true to himself and the ...strategy. The result......case dismissed followed by an expungement. Thank Mr. Vecchio!

I am a normal decent family person who fell into a legal issue just because of my negligence and ignorance. I learnt my lesson but in a hard way. Well I was charged two criminal counts by the grand jury, 2nd degree and 3rd degree which are totally unreasonable and the whole process took a year and ha...lf to settle. It was a total frustrating and painful process which I have spent thousands of dollars. After hiring Anthony Vecchio he made my life easier and gave me a hope and trust. I am really pleased and felt very comfortable after meeting this gentleman. Before Anthony, I have hired 2 other attorneys and also went for a 3rd highly expensive one for a consultation who charged $750 for 30 min consultation. My first attorney didn't do any good except writing a letter and took the advantage of my situation and took all money upfront he was a vacationer and never had the time for me. I lost hope on him and hired the second lawyer based upon the AVVO reviews based upon the number of ratings rather than the actual review and burnt my fingers again; the second one is totally an idiot which I made countless visits every week and no peace of mind for about at least 4-5 months. It was really difficult to find the right attorney in this market. After spending a lot of hours on the internet and research I finally chose Anthony Vecchio, initially I was being very skeptic because of my previous history and the same time Anthony was charging very reasonable charges; at our initial free consultation he gave me the feel of the best case and the worst case. He never took advantage of my situation. When we had a retainer agreement he gave me an option to pay the money in installments and my first two attorneys’ didn't give that option that itself shows that Anthony is the true professional. My case dragged too long and was a frustrating painful process. Anthony and myself made so many visits to the court and every time Anthony reminded and prepared me before the court date and all the time he was available and there were some days where we had to wait long hours at the court and he never said anything, I know myself that I am paying too little for the services that Anthony is providing to me. I told him many times to re-evaluate and charge me for his services but he never took that advantage and didn't show any interest and at the same time he put his quality time and effort in resolving my case. Long story short, he dismissed my 2nd and 3rd degree charges and convinced the judge/prosecutor with the PTI. After this long process I am finally relieved and need to fulfill my PTI obligation. I am writing this review basically to help others not to fall into the traps which I experienced.
